The Tiger Came for Tea? 🐅🫖
This week in the Toddler room, stories have been a favourite! The children have been engaging well listening to detail and learning all about 'The Tiger who came to Tea'.🐯 We spoke about healthy and unhealthy foods from the book and made our own tea as our book bugs followed the book using props to act out the story.📚 We made yummy soup using water play!🥣 The children also explored messy play by looking closely at patterns and identifying the tiger's colours. We spoke about colour mixing as our super scientists mixed the colours up using sponges and rollers! What great fun we had! 🎨

In the Toddler room, we have been making pizza following children's interest in recipes, cooking pizza and imaginary play. The children have been using natural resources as a base for their pizza and then adding all of their favourite toppings engaging in imaginative play as they used different objects to represent another object. We spoke about healthy and unhealthy foods and discussed our favourite foods with one another! The children counted the toppings and named the different colours they saw. This activity supported fine motor skills, imaginative skills, social skills and mathematical skills.

This week the babies have been particularly interested in construction! They have been using tools to try and 'fix' different items around the room. We then created our own construction tuff tray linked to In The Moment Teaching, building with blocks, dressing up as they built relationships and learnt new single words, such as "brick", "bang", "crash".
