CCCU Sustainability

CCCU Sustainability Home to the Academy for Sustainable Futures and Student Green Office at Canterbury Christ Church University

CCCU Sustainability is the official channel for Sustainability at Canterbury Christ Church University in Kent. It is home to the Academy for Sustainable Futures and the Student Green Office (SGO) at Christ Church. We engage with students and staff at Christ Church, and aspire to greater collaboration and engagement with our local community and shared heritage, and between the lot of us we run various engagement initiatives, projects, events, campaigns and more throughout the year. We hire some of Christ Church's own students into paid roles within the SGO each year, and work with many more students through module collaborations, work experience placements and volunteering roles. If you'd like to find out more, you can get in touch with us through this page or email us directly: [email protected] - we'd love to hear from you.

Did you meet our new Student Green Office Team during Welcome Week?

Kaitlyn, Sophie, Emilia, Lauren and Cara (not pictured) started at the SGO this week, and met hundreds of new students at the Welcome Fair, Experience Fair, and Meet the Teams Pizza Party.

If you haven't had a chance to meet the team yet, keep an eye out as they'll be running events, creating projects, and introducing themselves on the blog in the coming weeks!

🌱"Many hands make light work"🌱

Massive thank you to everyone who came by yesterday to pick hops! Together, we picked 21kg of hops for this year's heritage ale, and took them down to the Foundry for their brew!

This year, the hops were lucky enough to be blessed by Rev'd Emma Pennington, Canon Missioner at Canterbury Cathedral.

Our next ale will be available at the Foundry and CCCU outlets in late October!
