Kent College Canterbury

Kent College Canterbury An outstanding Independent, Co-Educational School for boys and girls aged 0 - 18 located in the city

Nestling in idyllic surroundings on the outskirts of Canterbury, Kent College offers a fantastic array of opportunities including our own school farm and equine unit. We provide an education for local children plus boarders from 40+ different countries. We are recognised as a world school and offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma alongside A level courses. The IB allows students to pursue more subjects and credits them for the work that they already do in the community and on the sports field. Recent IB results with an average of 37 points place the school in the top 10 nationally. Our pupils are academically able and also accomplished team players in sport; eloquent musicians; contributors to the school society and beyond; leaders of their own peer group and role models to others.

Fuelling success 💪

Our Year 10, 11 and 13 students, alongside our Sports Scholars, recently heard from Ellie Olds, Head of Nutrition at Holroyd Howe and footballer for Fulham FC Women, about the importance of nutrition for both mental and physical health.

From supporting focus and wellbeing during exam season to helping our Sports Scholars perform at their best, students gained valuable insight into how good nutrition can support them both academically and physically 🥗

A huge thank you to Ellie for joining us at KC!

Farm Club and Horse Riding is thriving at KC! 🐴

Working in partnership with Lucketts Farm and Barton Farm Field Equestrian Centre, our Farm and Horse Riding Programme gives students the chance to get hands-on, build confidence and develop new skills.

On the farm, students can care for horses, donkeys, sheep and pigs, and learn more about animal husbandry and land management. Our Saturday Farm Programme takes this even further, with students becoming part of the working farm team and developing teamwork, responsibility and practical skills.

Alongside this, students can develop their riding at Barton Farm Field Equestrian Centre, with opportunities for beginners through to experienced riders, including Pony Club activities and competitive NSEA events.

A brilliant way for students to try something different and discover new passions at KC.

Last week, our Year 11 and 13 drama students enjoyed a trip to Woking to see The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time.

Our sixth form history students also explored the Canterbury Archives and historic sites across the city as part of their preparation for the Historical Association’s Great Debate!
