We are so very proud of our two staff winners at this years SEC School Awards. Each year colleagues across all of the schools and nurseries in Kent are nominated for various awards, and we had two very deserving winners.

Nikki Young - Pastoral/SEND/Wellbeing Award
Canterbury District !

Mrs Young works tirelessly in our SEND department with our vulnerable learners, making such an impactful difference every day. She is kind and nurturing, always smiling and upbeat no matter what is happening. She gives every student the best possible chances, works closely with families to put structured support in place and leads a strong team at our academy site. Well done Mrs Young, very well deserved.

Tim Fox – School Leader of the Year Canterbury District
And OVERALL School Leader of the Year for KENT !

Mr Fox, the legend ! Head of our Academic Pillar and a senior leader working across our Trust schools, he has dedicated years to the students here. He strives to give as much as possible, to as many as possible, as often as possible, through trips, enrichment, quality teaching, the Langton Grammar stream and all of the other initiatives he has collaborated on over the years. He plays an integral part of our ethos and values here and could not be more deserving of his two awards.

Well done x

Super Saturday 2026 !!!!!
At the end of term 5 we welcomed 400 Year 5 students from across the district to our secondary school taster day.
We offered a range of activities across our four pillars of excellence ; Sport, Practical Learning & Enterprise Education, Academic and Performing Arts.
The Year 5s got to try an activity in each pillar and then enjoy a delicious lunch prepared by our onsite catering team.
The day was a huge success and the feedback that we received was very positive.
We had current Year 7 and 8 students volunteer their Saturday to help with the activities and show the Year 5s around their school.
Our Sixth Form Crusaders basketball players also gave up their Saturday to deliver some fantastic sporting activities.
Parents were able to access a free day pass to our onsite gym Lifestyle Fitness or visit Hat Hats coffee shop onsite, and then Inflate N Play offered some excellent deals after the event.
We would like to thank all of the Year 5s for coming along for the day, we absolutely loved meeting you all and we had so much fun.

Thank you for visiting Rosie Duffield MP

It was a pleasure to be invited to visit Canterbury Primary School and again meet their Accredited Play Therapist.

Play Therapy UK is leading the push for stronger standards in children’s mental health and emotional wellbeing. Through its Child Mental Health Charter it champions early, effective and expert support, delivered by fully qualified, licensed and registered play therapists.

With rising anxiety among children (nearly 1 in 5 referrals) and evidence from 45,000 cases showing up to 84% improvement in those with the greatest needs, the impact is clear: children benefit from specialist, child-centred approaches.

I fully back the initiative by Play Therapy UK to regulate child therapy and help protect the future of our children.
