As a Bupa Coding Day special, we are joined by Get with the Program and AL the Robot with their Heathy Lunch-Bot Coding Adventure, as they take 5-11 year-olds on an exciting interactive journey, bringing coding and healthy eating together in easily digestible byte-sized chunks!
We will be accompanied live online by ‘Professor’ Trice, who will introduce, pause to chat, and conclude the exciting and interactive 25-minute ‘watch-along’ coding adventure show – it’s fun and it’s full of delicious coding!
You have an opportunity to sign up for a free Get with the Program account (www.getwiththeprogram.org.uk/bupa) where you can request access to their fantastic age-specific follow-on computing curriculum-focused activities and worksheets, designed to help embed the learning!
Teachers, taking part will help you to cover computing curriculum key terms, easily integrate STEM into your lessons, save time with ready-to-use resources, contribute to your Ofsted goals and give you a totally free enrichment activity!

Celebrate World Ocean Day with an exciting live talk all about manta rays!
Join schools across the world this World Ocean Day to discover the fascinating lives of these gentle ocean giants. Students will learn about manta rays' biology, habitats and behaviour, while hearing inspiring stories about the people working to protect them.
Perfect for primary schools, this session will introduce young learners to ocean conservation and show how people everywhere can work together to protect marine life and our shared ocean.
This live talk, aimed at primary children, will be informative and engaging. There will be the opportunity to ask questions afterwards.

What an incredible day at STEM in the Park 2026!
Around 4,200 visitors joined us in Memorial Gardens, Crawley on 16 May, to explore more than 100 hands-on STEM activities delivered by nearly 50 amazing exhibitors 👏
From launching over 500 rockets 🚀 and flying drones, to renewable energy challenges, VR experiences, robotics, engineering activities and exploring future STEM careers — the event once again showcased the power of hands-on learning and community collaboration.
The feedback speaks for itself:
📊 95% of visitors were from Crawley
📊 90% of young people said they learned something new and felt curious, excited and inspired by STEM
📊 98% said they would attend again

BCS Levelling Up: Computing (opportunity for female students in Kent and Medway)

Canterbury Christ Church University is pleased to announce that it will be offering female students in Kent and Medway the opportunity to participate in the Levelling Up Computing programme.
Levelling up is an initiative supported by BCS - The Chartered Institute for IT and Dr Tony Hill.
This 2-day event is aimed at female students who are in the first year of a 2 year programme of study at level 3 (e.g. A level, BTEC, T levels or other qualifications) who are considering a career in any area of Computing or IT.
The programme consists of 9 sessions including:
Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
Human Computer Interaction
Study Skills
Creative Coding
Data Science and Environmental Modelling
Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics
Writing a Personal Statement
Self Development using VR
Campus Tour and Lunch
Eight sessions will be delivered on campus and one will be delivered remotely.
The programme is free to attend, and lunch will be provided on both days.
Attendees will be responsible for the cost of transport to and from CCCU campus in Canterbury.
The dates are Wednesday 17th and Thursday 18th June 2026 with the Welcome session taking place on Friday 12th June.
Applications are welcome from all qualifying students and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

Celebrating World Metrology Day (where metrology is the science of measurement) we are joined by National Physical Laboratory (NPL).
Why is measurement important in sport? How do small differences make a big impact on performance? Using fun, real‑world examples, NPL talks about how measurement is vital in sport. Students will take part in a short hands‑on activity using rulers to test their reaction time, investigating the difference between their dominant and non-dominant hands.
For the hands-on activity you will require the following:
- A 30 cm ruler
- Two people
- Paper and pencil for results and calculation
