📚 A huge thank you to Dr Fern Riddell for her very generous donation to our school library. 📚

"I am a Royal Rulebreaker" is an exciting and inspiring book about amazing and diverse women in our History who defied expectations.

On 11 June, Dr Riddell visited the school and spoke about the book with Isaac, Jessica, Ashraf and Elga who are all budding Historians.

Mrs Taggart, Teacher of History met with the author and said; "Dr Riddell is a really inspiring historian who I first met at her workshop with East Kent Schools Together, which subsequently inspired some planning for my History lessons. I am now really excited that our students will get to directly experience her excellent historical work through this awesome book!"

Thank you again Dr Riddell for your generous donation.

📅 Exams Schedule: 15 - 19 June 2026 📅

Year 11, 12 and 13 Students

This is it — the last week!!

The week where effort becomes achievement.

Reflecting on our school values, we encourage you all to carry HOPE into every lesson and revision sessions you have left, use your WISDOM to work smart, and let your PERSEVERANCE drive you through the finish line.

We have seen your dedication and your growth – you have made us proud — and you should be proud of yourselves too.

Message from Mr Elliott: “I would like to take a moment to recognise the determination and resilience shown by our Year 11, 12 and 13 students during these past few weeks. This is a demanding period, and the commitment you continue to demonstrate each day is something the whole school community is proud of. With the finish line now just a few days away, it is important to maintain the focus and routines that have brought you this far. Thank you to our families and staff for your ongoing support, encouragement, and care”.

This week’s goes to one of our Year 8 students – Buddy!

🥊 Huge congratulations to Buddy on becoming the Portugal Portimão Box Cup Champion and winning his weight category! 🏆

This is an incredible achievement that reflects the hard work, dedication and determination and we are extremely proud of his success. We interviewed Buddy, and here’s what he had to say:

Q: How did it feel to become the Portugal Portimão Box Cup Champion for your weight category?
A: It felt like a massive achievement. I started Boxing not knowing much about it, to now travelling abroad to play in competitions.

Q: What age did you start boxing?
A: Aged 12.

Q: What made you want to take up boxing?
A: My Stepdad is a Boxing coach, so I decided to give it a try.

Q: Who is your favourite Boxer?
A: Conor Benn

Q: How do you balance schoolwork and training?
A: When I train, I don’t get back until late. So, I complete homework whilst eating dinner.

Q: What advice would you give to other young people who want to try boxing?
A: It is a great sport for keeping you fit, disciplined and to learn self-defence.

Q: What are your goals for the future in boxing?
A: To be a national Champion, and to keep achieving!

Well done, Buddy — we are cheering you every step of the way! 👏
