🌍 Student Success in National Engineering Competition🏗️
Huge congratulations to Freddie Cooper and Harvey Rain, who have won the Gold Award in the 2025 ICE CityZen Competition!
Their innovative proposal tackled local concerns around solar farms by suggesting the use of industrial rooftops and car parks instead of farmland – showing how renewable energy can grow while protecting natural spaces.
Out of over 1400 students, their idea won top prize and earned them £2000, as well as praise from the Institution of Civil Engineers.
An amazing achievement – very well done, Freddie and Harvey!

🎵 Spring Concert Highlights at Barton Court
On Thursday 26 March, Barton Court Grammar School hosted our annual Spring Concert, and what an inspirational evening it was! Over 80 students from across all year groups performed an exciting and diverse programme, featuring music by Holst, The Beatles, Metallica, Cab Calloway and popular musical theatre favourites.
A real highlight of the evening was the number of smaller ensembles, the majority of which were formed and organised by the students themselves – a fantastic demonstration of creativity, commitment and teamwork.
Audience members commented on how wonderful it was to see the development of all our whole school ensembles (with a special mention for the Rock Band!), with several describing it as one of the best events of recent years.
A huge congratulations to all performers and thanks to everyone who supported such a memorable evening! 👏
