As part of Forest School, and to celebrate International Mud Day, staff and students headed to Boonies to take on a muddy obstacle course challenge.
Students worked together to complete each obstacle, showing fantastic teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills throughout.
Despite celebrating International Mud Day, there wasn't actually much mud to be found! Thanks to the beautiful weather it was much drier than expected β a very different story from last year!
Everyone had a brilliant time climbing obstacles and playing on the water shoot, and definitely gave it their all! Well done everyone!! π

WE DID IT! ππ
What a fantastic day! βοΈ
Our team successfully completed the Lymphoma Walk, walking 6 miles across eight bridges of London, enjoying the sunshine and some incredible views along the way. We are so proud of what we achieved together.
The best news of all? Thanks to everyone's amazing support, we didn't just reach our Β£1,000 fundraising target β we exceeded it! π―
Our fundraising isn't over just yet. On Tuesday, Matthew will be bravely shaving his head and we also have a bake sale planned later this month!
Once all donations from the walk, Matthew's sponsored head shave and our bake sale are in, we'll share a final fundraising total with everyone.
Thank you so much to everyone who has donated, shared our fundraising page, sent messages of support and encouraged. We are all incredibly grateful for every donation and every kind word. Your generosity and support means so much to us and will help support a truly worthwhile cause.
Thank you for helping us support Lymphoma Action and make a difference. π

We are HALFWAY!!! 4 bridges down, 4 to go!!!
We're now at 90% of our target! π
What an incredible response so far β thank you to everyone who has donated, shared, supported, and encouraged us on this journey. β€οΈ
We're so close to reaching our fundraising goal. We've made it to 90%, which is amazing, but we'd love to cross that finish line and hit 100%!
If you've been meaning to donate but haven't had the chance yet, there's still time. Every pound helps support vital research, support services, and awareness for those affected by lymphoma.
Thank you for helping us make a difference. Let's see if we can get that final 10%! πΆββοΈπΆββοΈ

πΆββοΈπ Today's the day!
We're at the start line and ready to take on the Lymphoma Walk. Thank you so much to everyone who has supported us so far β your kindness and generosity mean the world.
We've reached 82% of our fundraising target, which is amazing, but we're not quite there yet. If you're able to donate, no matter how small the amount, it would help us get closer to our goal and support the incredible work being done for those affected by lymphoma.
Please donate if you can, and wish us luck as we set off!
Thank you π

Just before half term, our wonderful Maths Lead, Matthew, had the honour of attending a special celebration at Buckingham Palace to mark 70 years of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award and recognise Gold Award holders from across the country. ππ
Reflecting on the experience, Matthew spoke about the lasting impact DofE has on young people, helping them build confidence, resilience, independence, and teamwork skills through challenge and adventure.
"Being surrounded by so many young people who had pushed themselves and overcome challenges reminded me why DofE is such a powerful programme. It's not about being the loudest, sportiest, or most outgoing β it's about being willing to try, to persevere when things get tough, and to discover strengths you didn't know you had.
The experience reinforced my belief that DofE gives young people opportunities to grow, develop confidence, and achieve things they may never have thought possible. For our pupils, those moments of achievement can have a lasting impact long after the expedition boots have been put away."
Congratulations, Matthew, on this fantastic achievement and thank you for continuing to inspire our pupils through DofE. π

π Bridges of London Challenge πΆπ½ββοΈπΆββοΈ
This time next week, our school staff team will be taking on the Bridges of London Challenge β a 6-mile walk across 8 of London's iconic bridges β to raise money for Lymphoma Action ππ.
We are walking in support of our wonderful teaching assistant, Adam, who was diagnosed with lymphoma in October and is continuing his treatment journey following chemotherapy. Adam has shown incredible strength and resilience throughout, and we're proud to come together as a team to support him, raise awareness and help others affected by lymphoma.
With just one week to go, we're asking for your help to reach our fundraising target. Every donation, no matter how big or small, will make a real difference and help Lymphoma Action continue providing vital support, information and services to those living with lymphoma and their families.
If you're able to donate, please follow the link below. We'd also be incredibly grateful if you could share this post to help spread the word.
Thank you so much for your support β let's make these next seven days count! ππ

π£ Friday Chick Update! π£
What an exciting week we've had!
Out of our 11 eggs, an amazing 9 chicks successfully hatched. We candled the remaining two eggs and unfortunately found that they had not developed, but we feel very fortunate to have welcomed nine healthy chicks.
Our chicks are all different colours and varieties, and they have been keeping both students and staff entertained with their funny faces, quirky personalities, and some very unusual sleeping positions!
The students have loved watching them hatch and grow, while completing projects, activities, and worksheets to learn more about the life cycle of a chicken.
The chicks are now all settled into the brooder and have been named: Tiger, Blackjack, Mr. Chirpington, Oreo, Pingu, Lemony, Chick Jagger, Chickadee, and Bibi Junior. π₯π€π£π₯π€π£π₯π€π£
They have safely gone home with one of our TAs for the weekend and will be back in school next week, ready for more adventures and plenty more learning.
Keep an eye out for further chick updates next week! π₯

π£ Chick Update! π£
Things have been very busy in our incubator!
When we checked last night at about 9pm, two more chicks hatched, bringing our total to six. π€π₯
Then, when staff arrived at school this morning, we were delighted to discover that another three eggs had hatched overnight, giving us a grand total of nine fluffy chicks! π₯π₯π₯
We still have a couple of eggs remaining in the incubator and so this afternoon we will be carrying out candling, where a light is shone through the eggs to check whether the chicks inside are developing and whether there is still a chance of them hatching.
Our next step is to move the chicks into the brooder once they are strong enough.
We are all thoroughly enjoying watching this incredible process and checking on the chicks throughout the day.
Here are a couple of videos of our newest chicks settling in, along with some staff members sneaking in a few chick cuddles before the students arrived this morning!
We can't blame them β it's hard to resist when they're this cute! π₯π

π£ Chick Update! π£
We have another arrival!
This afternoon, around lunchtime, Chick Number 4 hatched β and did so in rather dramatic fashion, emerging feet first! π₯
Our newest chick is quite a bit smaller than the other three, but appears to be doing well. With the arrival of Chick Number 4, the first three chicks have now moved into their new brooder space, where they can continue to grow and explore.
Students have voted and chosen names for our first three hatchlings:
π₯ Mr Chirpington
π₯ Tiger
π₯ Blackjack
The excitement isn't over yet! We currently have four more eggs showing cracks and chips, so we're keeping a close eye on the incubator and waiting to see who will hatch next.
Stay tuned for more chick updates! π£β¨
