Message from Will Jones (Class of 77)
The “Classof77”
held their second annual London gathering at the ‘Blackfriars’ pub on saturday 16th May, 2026, and welcomed 20 members who attended St.Edmund’s between 1973 and 1982.
These included, from left to right:
Adrian Torry (Wgr 1971-79), Nigel Gibson (Bkr 1972-78), Adrian Bagnall (Wtn 1974-79), James To (Wfd 1964-73), Andrew Graham(Wgr 1973-77), Timothy Lang (Wgr 1971-77), Chris Jeffrey (Wgr 1969-75), Allan Stanley (Wtn 1971-75), Andrew Skinner (Wtn 1973 -78), William Jones (Bkr 1971-79), Andrew Wells (Wfd 1971-81), Simon Opie (Wfd 1967-75), James Dutton (Bkr 1965-74), Stephen Langston Gnt 1975-79), Keith Rumbelow (Wgr 1972-81), Chris Dunlop (Wtn 1974-80), Jasper Warwick Gnt 1975-80), Mark Jackson (Wtn 1976-80).
Absent were:
Andrew Buchan (Bkr 1966-73) and Will Thornhill (Wgr 1975-80).
Classof77 currently lists 135 members on their page St.Edmund’s Canterbury-Class of 1977 with 205 photographs on their sesclassof77 Instagram account.
In addition, we are in contact with many ex-pupils from the 1970’s who do not have a Facebook account, but have an interest in keeping in touch.
We’ll be meeting at regular intervals over the next few years, with a May meeting in London and an October meeting in Canterbury.
Our Main objectives are:
1. Reunite old friends who have lost contact over the years.
2. Arrange meetings for those who would like to spend a day talking about school days and experiences associated with.
3. Collect photographs and school memorabilia from the 1970’s period.
We’re very informal, basically down the pub for a pint and a chat, and we are always looking for new members who can share their stories, experiences and memories.
Our next gathering will be in Canterbury on Saturday 24th October, meeting at the Millers Arms pub from 12.00.
Further details will be forwarded in August, so join us if you can!
You can join our page or send me an email at [email protected]
Kind Regards
Will Jones.
Classof77.
