Fun Start Childcare is a preschool for children in Cannock, Staffordshire. It is well established having been in existence for over 30 years (formally under the name of Cannock Community Preschool). Our fully qualified staff are dedicated to providing the children with a fun, friendly environment in which to grow and develop in a positive and healthy direction. The primary method of learning for a

child is through play. At Fun Start we provide a vast array of opportunities for your child to explore, experiment and discover via a wide range of activities, helping them to work towards government set early learning goals aided with the implementation of our key worker system. Children of any nationality or religion between 2 and 5 years of age are welcome and we accept children in nappies. Fun Start Childcare is a registered charity (no. 1155304).

Here's a simple homemade playdough recipe that makes one large batch:

Ingredients

* 2 cups all-purpose flour
* 1 cup salt
* 2 tablespoons cream of tartar
* 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
* 2 cups water
* Food coloring (optional)
* A few drops of vanilla, peppermint, or another extract (optional, for scent)

# # # Instructions

1. In a medium saucepan, combine the flour, salt, and cream of tartar.
2. Add the oil and water. If using food coloring, mix it into the water first.
3. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly.
4. Continue stirring until the mixture thickens and forms a ball.
5. Remove from heat and let it cool until safe to handle.
6. Knead until smooth.
7. Store in an airtight container or zip-top bag.

* Add glitter for sparkle playdough.
* Divide the batch and knead in different colors after cooking.
* If it becomes dry, knead in a few drops of water.
* Stored airtight, it can last for several months.

This recipe makes soft, durable playdough similar to store-bought versions.
