๐Ÿ“ธโœจ June โ€“ Our Month So Far in Pictures โœจ๐Ÿ“ธ

๐Ÿ› We have taken delivery of 5 Very Hungry Caterpillars and the children are loving watching their amazing journey as they grow and transform into beautiful butterflies.

๐Ÿฆ‹ Weโ€™ve enjoyed lots of creative activities, using paints, glue, tissue paper and bubble paint to make our very own caterpillars and butterflies.

โœ‚๏ธ Weโ€™ve used scissors to make fringe cutting on our leaves and tried with great confidence to snip along the lines.

๐Ÿƒ Our adventures have included trips to soft play, Birches Valley and Marquis Drive, where weโ€™ve had lots of fun exploring, playing and enjoying the great outdoors.

We canโ€™t wait to see what the rest of June brings! ๐Ÿ’š

Today we celebrated International Nurses Day, held on May 12th in honour of Florence Nightingale. ๐Ÿฉบ๐Ÿ’™

The children enjoyed mark making, gluing, and sticking to create a special celebratory masterpiece. They also had lots of fun dressing up as nurses and exploring our role-play area, using their imaginations to care for others just like real-life nurses.

We were very impressed with the childrenโ€™s concentration during our threading activity, and they also loved sharing stories and reading books about nurses and doctors. ๐Ÿ“šโœจ

๐ŸŽ‚ Sir David Attenborough 100th ๐ŸŽ‚

Today at the setting, the children made cards to celebrate Sir David Attenboroughโ€™s 100th birthday, which we will be posting to his production company. ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ’š

We also enjoyed measuring ingredients, whisking, mixing, and creating our own โ€œgreen birthday cake with sprinklesโ€ to take home and enjoy. ๐ŸŽ‚โœจ

โ€œThe natural world is the greatest source of excitement, the greatest source of visual beauty, the greatest source of intellectual interest.โ€ โ€“ Sir David Attenborough

๐ŸŒธ Shugborough Estate - National Trust ๐ŸŒธ

Weโ€™ve had a wonderful time exploring the great outdoors and were lucky enough to get up close to cows, piglets, chickens and sheep with their lambs ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ–๐Ÿ„ ๐Ÿ“

The children loved the freedom to explore the grounds, letting their imaginations run wild as they discovered where the winding paths might lead. ๐ŸŒฟโœจ

๐Ÿš’๐Ÿ”ฅ Recognizing and honoring our firefighters โ€“ Monday 4th May 2026 ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿš’

Today, the children enjoyed matching and naming 2D shapes to create their own fire station pictures, building on their early maths skills in a fun and engaging way.

Out in the garden, they used spray bottles to โ€œput out fires,โ€ developing their imagination while also strengthening the muscles in their hands, an important skill for early writing.

A fantastic day of learning through play while celebrating our everyday heroes โค๏ธ

๐ŸŒณ Marquis Drive ๐ŸŒณ

Maintaining our commitment to the Forest Childcare Association, we kicked off the week with a lovely spring walk through Cannock Chase, taking in the sights and sounds of nature ๐ŸŒผ๐ŸŒณ

We finished the day with plenty of smiles and laughter at the park โ€“ a perfect way to enjoy the fresh air and each otherโ€™s company โ˜€๏ธ

๐Ÿ˜Š Garden Play, 1st May 2026 ๐Ÿ˜Š

Weโ€™ve had a magical, hands on day full of sensory play and creativity โœจ๐Ÿธ

The children loved exploring our frog themed water table, mixing mica powder to create beautiful, sparkly swirls. Over at the sand table, they were busy scooping, pouring, and making marks with paint brushes - great for developing coordination and imagination.

Our potion making activity was a big hit too! Using shimmering mica powder with dried rose petals, jasmine, amaranth, and chrysanthemums, the children created their own enchanting mixtures. They especially enjoyed filling and squeezing bottles, fully immersing themselves in the experience ๐ŸŒธ๐Ÿงช

So much curiosity, creativity, and joy in every moment ๐Ÿ’œ

๐ŸŒฟ Stepping Stones, Cannock Chase ๐ŸŒฟ

Our beautiful walk from Birches Valley ๐ŸŒฟ led us along winding woodland paths, past peaceful pools, gentle waterfalls, and so much amazing nature ๐Ÿƒ

We finally reached the stepping stones where we enjoyed a lovely picnic with friends ๐Ÿงบ Sunshine, laughter, and the calmest surroundings, just perfect โ˜€๏ธ

Best part? Swapping shoes to paddle in the stream, using nets and colanders to hunt for little treasures, and jumping across the stones ๐Ÿ’ฆ

Memories made forever ๐Ÿ’œ
