Busy Little Hands Childminding Service Cannock OFSTED REGISTERED CHILDMINDER-GRADED OUTSTANDING My name is Sally, I run Busy Little Hands. I live with my husband and our two boys. I absolutely love my job.

We live in Norton Canes, Cannock and have no pets. My aim is to provide all children in my care a safe, clean, happy, calm, comfortable, caring, home-like environment where they can play, learn and have lots and lots of fun. I want the children to feel, when entering my setting, that they are staying with ‘family’, giving them that homely setting feeling! As an Ofsted registered childminder I am b

ound by the Statutory Learning Requirements of the EYFS to offer rich learning experiences and opportunities under the 7 areas of learning. My Curriculum is to ensure all children in my setting are happy, curious, confident, kind, independent, chatter boxes/learning new words/ having conversations/ asking and able to answer questions, able to demonstrate good self care skills, forge good relationships with peers, sit/listen/respond to story's/instructions etc, use their imaginations with small world toys/outdoor play/role play, be creative, interested in nature/seasons - all this to become school ready!! I will observe your child, to make sure they are developing within the 7 areas of learning and development and plan next step activities for them based on these observations to progress their learning even further. We attend local toddler groups, libraries, farms, parks, forest playgroups and music & dance groups. We also take regular trips to Chasewater, Shugbough, Wolseley Bridge, Hollybush and Birches Valley. A termly newsletter will be sent home to families showing our plans for the monthly theme, what activities are planned, celebrations/festivals we will take part in, places where we will be going, what we will be learning, singing and reading. I always encourage parents to add/suggest anything else that their child may enjoy into our monthly theme, I also like to know what your are working on at home with your child, so I can support it here in the setting. As well as the monthly theme, I follow 'Planning in the moment' approach. this is when a child is interested in something at that very moment, so I think of ways to extend their learning, fascination, curiosity, interest in their subject. This was noted in my Ofsted inspection report -"The childminder is an inspirational teacher. She consistently extends and challenges children's learning to the highest levels and responds to their spontaneous play ideas innovatively." Photos, film updates what they are up to, how they been what they have eaten will be sent to parents by WhatsApp throughout the day. I also have a closed WhatsApp group for all parents to see group photos of their children having fun together
my last inspection was August 2019 and was graded Outstanding. After gaining my childcare qualification-NNEB (level 3) in 1993, I worked as a nanny for 11 years for lots of families. In 2003 I became an Ofsted Registered Childminder. All through my childcare career, I've cared for children ranging from birth to 16 years and had experience working with twins. I have some excellent references from all the families I have cared for over my childcare career. Some have been written by the children I've cared for over the years, so they have a chance to let you know what they think of me. Spending time with the little ones, seeing how they grow, learn, develop throughout their time with me gives me the greatest joy. I have a long history of families staying with me for years. This speaks for itself, how the families are happy with the safety, care and learning I provide.

We had a fun morning learning all about the police and exploring the police van.

| This morning, PC Beck Russell and PCSO Chad Carrington had the pleasure of visiting the Hawksyard Ducklings Childminder group at Rugeley Community Church & Centre

The children were full of excitement as they explored the Police van and tried on some uniform, giving them a fun, hands-on experience of policing in their community.

Engagements like these are so important — they help build trust and familiarity with local officers from an early age, show children that the police are approachable and here to help, and strengthen the bond between neighbourhood policing teams and the communities they serve.

A big thank you to Hawksyard Ducklings for the warm welcome!
