Little Bears Childminding

Little Bears Childminding Little Bears Childminding provides professional care for children from 3 months to 11 years of age Welcome to Little Bears Childminding!

My name is Clair, I am 45 years old and I live with my partner Phil and two sons, Josh, who is 21, and Luca, who is almost 5. I have a stepdaughter, Kara, 18, who stays with us at weekends and in the school holidays. We also have one pet cat called Lily-Lou. I am originally from the Lane Head/Short Heath areas in Willenhall, but I have lived in Bloxwich for the last 7 years. Our house is close to

St Peter’s Catholic Primary School, Bloxwich. My background is in primary school teaching. I worked at a school in Willenhall for 14 1/2 years teaching children between the ages of 3-11 years old. My favourite stage to teach has definitely been EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage), I just absolutely love working with the little ones and find it extremely rewarding. After having our second son, I decided that I really wanted to do something that I love and that would fit in around my family. I was inspired by my experience in EYFS to consider a career in childcare. I finally made the exciting decision in June 2019 to retrain and I started the process to become a childminder. I completed my level 3 Home Based Childcare qualification in September 2019 and have also completed safeguarding and paediatric first aid training. In addition, I also have a BEd in Primary School Teaching. I aim to provide professional care for children from 3 months to 11 years of age, in a home from home setting, which is safe and secure. In this supportive, nurturing environment your child will be able to learn through play and will follow the EYFS curriculum to help them develop, learn and achieve. The setting is open Monday to Friday 7.30am-17.30pm during October half term 2020.

🎅🏼🎄 Decembers fun! (Part 2) We went to ‘Little P’s’ role play town, Cannock Park and Twiglets Forest School, which had a Christmas theme. We also went to Shoal Hill Common where we went on a nature walk, practised our ball skills and balancing skills and back in the setting we made snowflakes to practice our cutting skills. We playing ‘feelings’ games using the feelings dice, went to Mill Green and Hawks Green nature reserve to feed the ducks and go on a nature walk and we also made fake snow and built a snowman. The children also had a new garage and car track to explore and play with this month…

🎅🏼 🎄 Decembers fun! (Part 1) During December our themes were ‘The Gingerbread Man’ and of course ‘Christmas’. We went shopping to Asda for ingredients to make gingerbread men and then baked and decorated hi get read men at the setting, we visited the library and joined in a ‘Little Chicks’ class and went in the sensory room there, we went to Essington pools and practised our bike and scooter skills and fed the ducks, we made a gingerbread house, mark made in snow (flour) and practised our counting and number recognition. We went to the Kingswood Christmas party where we met their animals there, went on an elf hunt in the grounds, made Christmas crafts and met Santa. We went to Kids2Play, made Christmas cards and the older children did a letter to Santa using pictures from the toy catalogue and practising their cutting and sticking skills. We went to Snap Toddlers and had a fab time both inside and outdoors on their park and we made Christmas wreaths. We went to the ‘Bauble Ball’ and met Santa again, went bike riding around our local area and we went to Invoke Toddler Gymnastics sessions. We also visited the library again to choose some books to take home, we went to Hollybush to look at the animals and fish and we did so much more too…see part 2…

We are now closed for the holidays 🎄

Myself and Laura would like to wish all our families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Thank you for all of your support this year — it really does mean so much to us.

We’re also saying a very fond farewell to two of our little ones who will be leaving us to start nursery in the new year. You will be missed so much by us and by all of your little friends, but we know you’re both going to be absolutely amazing in your new schools.

Have a wonderful Christmas everyone!🎅🏼🎄✨

We have had so much fun in November and visited so many different places with lots of learning opportunities for the little one. As well as seeing Princess Catherine at the Memorial Arboretum this month, we have been to Snap toddler sessions, made Remembrance Day crafts, been to Twiglets Forest School, had some Halloween and The Gingerbread Man themed fun, visited the library a couple of times and chose books to take home, been to toddler gymnastics and to Story Ranger sessions. We’ve also been on nature walks around Rough Wood and Essington Pools, fed the ducks, been to soft play, been to Asda with our shopping lists to buy ingredients to make gingerbread men, been practising on the bikes and scooters and so much more..…

✨ Exciting update! ✨

💜🐻 Little Bear’s Childminding joined with Essington Childminding at the start of September and relocated to Laura’s lovely home in Essington. I’m pleased to report that everything is going really well and we’ve all been having so much fun! — The children are settling in brilliantly and making fantastic progress. It’s been such a positive move, and myself and Laura are looking forward to what’s ahead!🧸💚

🩵 A huge thank you from both of us to all our wonderful parents and children for your support during this transition 💕
