On Friday, eight visiting musicians from MoK Music Festival held some music workshops for our S4-S6 music pupils; including a range of vocal, brass, pipes, woodwind, piano and guitar. Well done to all of our CGS pupils, you all performed amazingly across the weekend and are a credit to us.

The CGS Bridge Club is back for our third year!

What is bridge?
Bridge is a card game.
Bridge is utterly compulsive once it has got hold of you.
We have members who have been with us since the first meeting and they are still learning, still playing and still having a heap of enjoyment.

It isn’t too hard to learn the basics, and one of the joys of bridge is that you can play it and actually start enjoying it whilst you are still finding out about how the game works. You can take it on at any level that you want, but a big problem is that very soon after you are taught the basics, you will want to be better, to be brilliant.,.... it is really that addictive.

We meet every Wednesday afternoon upstairs after school, 3.35pm - 5.30pm, so why not come along and find out what it's all about, you have nothing to lose, and perhaps you may gain a lifetime addiction to this compelling, complex but somehow simple game.
It doesn't matter if you have never played a game of cards in your life, we will teach you from the very basics to intermediary and beyond.

The two tutors are Eunice Crook & Michael McGeachy, both former pupils of CGS, and as it happens, both proud former Knockscalbert House members.

There are an estimated 100,000,000 people that play bridge worldwide, why not try to make it 100,000,001?

Seriously, if bridge is good enough for Homer Simpson, then it's good enough for anyone!

At QA, we're committed to helping young people navigate their career options with confidence and are pleased to be hosting a virtual information session next week.

This session is designed to help young people discover live apprenticeship opportunities, gain valuable application advice, and learn more about starting a successful career through apprenticeships. Attendees will also have the opportunity to hear directly from QA apprentices, who will share their experiences, insights, and advice on making the transition from education into the workplace.
