Our gardening journey so far 2026 🥬🥔🌱🪴🌷

The children have absolutely loved gardening and looking after our plants this year, they have been so helpful and have loved having such a responsibility at nursery.
We set out to be more ambitious this year and so far we have planted out potatoes, lettuce, spinach, peas, tomatoes, strawberries and cucumbers. The children have shown great respect for their hard work and are always so keen to get out and check on them.

Gardening has been such a lovely and rewarding task for the children and they are loving seeing their hard work pay off. They have loved getting to take some of their veggies home today. 😊⭐️🌸🌷🪴🥒🍅

UNCRC: I am given the opportunity to learn new skills and develop my understanding in a variety of ways.

A friendly reminder that our ELC Messy Play Session for all our new starts (2026/2027) is happening tomorrow from 3.15pm - 4pm🎨🖐️

We’d love to meet all our new children and their parents/carers. Please remember to wear clothes that can get a little messy!

This is a great opportunity to meet your child’s Key Worker and ask any questions.

We look forward to seeing everyone then 😄

Meadows Under Five are looking for some items that you no longer need to help develop our garden areas for the children’s imaginative play.
If anyone has any of the following please let us know, you can either drop off or we can arrange a pick up:

- Barrie dolls, action figures etc
-Rolls of wall paper, panelling
-Arts and crafts supplies
- Building blocks
- Animals, houses
- Pretend food, tea sets etc
- Plants

We were very lucky to have a cute little visitor at nursery this morning. One of our lovely mums took in their pet lamb Penny to see the children at Meadows. The children loved getting to see a lamb in real life and enjoyed learning more about farm animals.
The children have been learning about Easter and spring, so it was lovely to link some experiences to what we have been discussing at nursery.🌸🌷🐣🐑🪴

The children loved seeing the sun out this morning. We all decided it was a perfect day for some messy play. Paint footprints with our wellies went down a treat, the children loved seeing their footprints on the grass and cardboard.

The children were busy last week helping plant out potatoes for the year. 🌱🥔
We had so much fun planting and growing some vegetables last year, that the children are very excited to start our growing garden again. We hope to be more adventurous with our planting this year, so if there keen gardeners out there who have any tips for us - we welcome all the support we can get. 🥬🍓🥕🥒🥦
