🌟 Student Voice in Action! 🌟

This morning, members of our Student Council met with Camelford Town Council to discuss exciting plans for introducing inclusive play equipment at Enfield Park, Camelford.

During the session, students reviewed initial design ideas, shared their thoughts, and asked insightful questions about the proposed development. πŸ›πŸ€

It was a fantastic opportunity for our pupils to have their voices heard, contribute to local decision-making, and help shape a fun, welcoming, and inclusive space for everyone in the community to enjoy.

We are incredibly proud of their enthusiasm, confidence, and commitment to making a positive difference. πŸ’™

🎨πŸͺΈ Art & Design Enrichment – Climate Change Through Sculpture πŸͺΈπŸŽ¨

Our talented Year 7 students recently combined creativity with environmental awareness as they explored the impact of climate change on our oceans through the creation of stunning coral reef relief sculptures.

Inspired by the work of renowned artist Courtney Mattison, students worked collaboratively in pairs to design and build imaginative sculptures, developing a range of impressive artistic skills along the way. From constructing armatures and shaping foil structures to manipulating Modroc and creating textured relief forms, they showed fantastic dedication and craftsmanship throughout the project.

It was wonderful to see so much creativity, teamwork, resilience and enthusiasm on display. The finished pieces were both thought-provoking and visually impressive, highlighting the students' growing confidence as young artists.

πŸ‘ Well done to all involved for producing such outstanding work!

🏏 U13 Boys Reach County Hard Ball Cricket Final 🏏

A huge congratulations to our SJS U13 boys, who finished as County Hard Ball T20 runners-up after an outstanding run to the final! πŸ‘

The team earned their place in the county showpiece with impressive victories over Wadebridge and Penrice, setting up a final against a strong Hayle Academy side.

Despite facing an experienced team featuring several Cornwall representative players, the boys showed incredible determination from start to finish. Hayle posted 177-3, but SJS never stopped battling. Dontai and Lucas bowled brilliantly, Frank excelled in the field, and Austin impressed behind the stumps in his first match as wicketkeeper.

Chasing 178, SJS responded with great character, finishing on 128-2. Dontai led the way with a magnificent unbeaten 80 runs, capping off an outstanding all-round performance. πŸ’ͺ🏏

While the result didn't go our way, the boys' effort, resilience and sportsmanship were a credit to themselves and the school. Reaching a county final is a fantastic achievement and a fitting way to end an excellent season.

πŸ‘ Well done to every player involved – we're incredibly proud of you all!
