We're looking for a new passionate team member to run our toddler room and join our friendly, small nursery. You must have an NVQ level 3 in childcare or above with ideally two years experience of being a room leader. Career enhancement and continual learning and development of skills is very important to us for our staff team. Safeguarding, welfare and well-being is supported throughout the nursery. Working in partnership with and supporting the Manager and Deputy to ensure the daily running and administration of the nursery, adhering to the Policies & Procedures of Butterfly Day Nursery and compliance with the Children Act, Health and Safety legislation and within the guidelines of OFSTED and the National Standards. Ensuring confidentiality is maintained in the nursery.

Working as part of a team, remaining mutually respectful at all times.

Acting as a Named Coordinator relevant to their skills or training as designated by the Nursery Manager.

Supervising Nursery Nurses, Assistants and Students and carrying out supervisory meetings where appropriate under the guidance of the Manager and Deputy Manager.

Supervising the Nursery Nurses, with the planning of activities in a designated area of the nursery, ensuring accurate recording, reflection and evaluation.

Key Person - Keeping of accurate development records and observations, preparing the next steps for the individual child.

Liaising with the Manager/Deputy in organising relevant staff, effective mentoring of junior staff, effective delegation and communication and promoting positive attitudes regarding Butterfly.

Attending regular meetings with the Senior staff, and participating in staff meetings.

Assisting with staff inductions and helping new staff to fit into the nursery.

Being a good role model for Nursery Nurses, Assistants, trainees and Students.

Providing feedback to the Manager/Deputy on issues relating to the nursery day and assisting in the daily running of the nursery in their absence.

Addressing staff and parent queries.

Liaising with parents to give concise and accurate feedback about the individual child.

The room leader, along with the deputy and manager are the only qualified staff members who administer medication as recorded in the risk assessments and policy

Keeping and monitoring accident, incident and risk assessment records.

Professional development – to attend training to continuously update their skills and knowledge.

Offering all children equal opportunities with regard to their religious persuasion, racial origins, gender, disabilities, cultural or linguistic background; in particular, challenge situations where racism or discrimination is displayed.

Assisting the Manager and Deputy Manager, participating in arranging regular parents' evenings, publicity, open weekends and children's outings and ensuring effective marketing.

Any other duties appropriate to the post as directed by the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager.

The Butterfly Day Nursery has a vacancy for an experienced and inspirational Manager.

The Butterfly Nursery has been established by the current owners 32 years ago.It has a long established reputation within the community. The Nursery operates on a purpose built site and is registered for 52 children.

Responsibilities:

Ensure the effective daily management of the setting in accordance with Local Authorities and OFSTED requirements.

Ensuring the safety, security and wellbeing of all children registered with the setting.

Be responsible for Safeguarding in the setting, display a commitment to the protection and safeguarding of all the children in our care.

Be responsible for safe recruiting, management, training and discipline of all the staff team.

Monitor and ensure that safety standards are maintained in the setting at all times.

Monitor the day- to- day financial operations within the setting and meet occupancy and financial objectives.

Provide support and cover to the Deputy Manager and staff members as and when needed.

Requirements:

NNEB, NVQ3, BTEC or other appropriate qualifications.

A minimum of three years experience as a Nursery Manager with children aged 0 - 5 years.

The ability to work on own initiative and prioritise workload

Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation.

Knowledge and understanding of OFSTED standards and the delivery of the EYFS.

Knowledge and understanding of childcare management

Ability to lead a childcare team, developing positive relationships with colleagues, parents,children and outside agencies.

Excellent communication skills.

Knowledge and understanding of Equal Opportunities.

Experience/ knowledge of OFSTED inspection.

Financial management experience.

Experienced and confident using Word/Excel and internet based e-mail systems.

Organised.

A willingness to take on ad hoc duties as and when required.

First Aid Certificate and all relevant childcare certificates.

The Butterfly Day Nursery is looking to recruit a Passionate and experienced Room Leader for our Toddler Room (up to 12 children max ).

The successful candidate will have excellent communication,organisational and interpersonal skills.

The candidate must be highly motivated and have a positive attitude working with 2 year olds and be ready to lead a small team of staff in the room.

You will have a level 3 qualification or higher.

The Butterfly Day Nursery has a vacancy for a passionate Nursery Cook to prepare healthy, nutritious meals for each of the Nursery rooms as required, including the staff on shift. To ensure all children's nutritional and dietary needs are met and to include suitable pureed food for babies.
This position is well suited for a well organised individual who enjoys working on their own and takes pride in producing quality homemade meals.
Previous experience is desirable, and a minimum of a Food Hygiene Certificate, be willing to maintain a very high standard of hygiene at all times and follow infection/cross contamination control procedures.
Job Type: Full-time, 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Salary: £10.00 per hour
