Happy Birthday, Your Majesty!
The monarch has two birthdays. An official one in June called Trooping The Colour and today, the date he was actually born.
King Charles is 75 today, 10 years my senior and could be our King for at least another 20 years.

Happy world play day!
Play is a great way to learn!
Many people have forgotten its benefits.
We need more than the reported average of 7 hours per week!

Cambridge Alumni Weekend.
Managed to get to Homerton on Saturday and enjoyed reminiscing. Reminded about how privileged I am to have received such an opportunity and so glad I applied despite others thinking it was outside my reach. If you have a dream, follow it! It won’t be easy. Hard work does pay off eventually as those who have got to Cambridge as post-graduates will know.
On Sunday, had the opportunity to meet an OL parent, Shirley, who guided us around the Fitzwilliam Museum. This reminded me of visits their with students as we learnt English as well as about art.
One of the highlights was meeting up again with Ann Phillips. (See pic). We were both in the cohort that graduated as Homertonians and both served on the HUS Executive. Super to catch up and hope to do so again soon.
Message from the weekend, at Cambridge you work hard, play hard but it is not elite. Anyone with the intellectual and academic ability demanded by the rigorous courses will be considered and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Support is on hand for students financially, academically through Colleges and Tutors and for well-being. The provision, especially at Homerton, is excellent.
Use the outreach available in each college and visit. Don’t believe all you hear about it being impossible. Just give it a try. I did! 🤗

Feel privileged to have been invited to talk about about on “Approaches to learning and teaching; English for bilingual learners; building passion for learning” to staff at The British Internatuonal School Ukraine (BISU) today.
Amazed at the resilience of the staff who took in their stride moving to the bunker when the air raid siren sounded and continued to engage.
Thank you for your comments and for the work you do to support all on their education path.
