We are very pleased to announce that the Japanese Studies section at Cambridge has launched a new book series in collaboration with the University of Hawai’i Press. Named the Japan and the World Book Series, it aims to support the publication of and encourage academically grounded approaches that both offer new insights into Japan from a global perspective and engages with methodologies and theories of a disciplinary nature. Japanese Studies at Cambridge is absolutely delighted to share the wonderful news that Prof Barak Kushner has been elected a Fellow of the British Academy!

Professor Barak Kushner FBA Barak Kushner was educated at Brandeis University and Princeton University in the United States. He is currently Professor of East Asian history at the University of Cambridge and a fellow of Corpus Christi College.
