Public speaking, critical thinking, diplomacy, and the ability to hold a room and challenge an argument with confidence and grace.
These are the skills that will carry our students through university, careers, and life - and they're exactly the skills our Year 10 students put into practice in a recent Model UN conference at King's Ely.
Seven of our students debated the suppression of the internet by governments across the world, navigating complex geopolitical territory and holding their own among delegates from schools across the region. Ben and Eleanor were awarded medals for their skill in amending and challenging the UK delegate's resolution - a remarkable achievement that speaks to the quality of both students.
At Sancton Wood, we believe in education that goes beyond the classroom. Last week was a perfect example of why. 💙

Should governments have the power to suppress the internet? It's one of the defining questions of our era, and it was the very topic our Year 10 students tackled in a recent Model UN conference at King's Ely.
Seven Sancton Wood students stepped into the shoes of international delegates, debating the suppression of the internet by governments around the world with nuance, passion, and real intellectual rigour. In a world where freedom of information, digital rights, and state power are more hotly contested than ever, we think it's vital that young people engage with these questions early and confidently.
Watching our students do exactly that - and do it so brilliantly - was genuinely inspiring. Ben and Eleanor even received medals for their exceptional contributions on the day. We're incredibly proud of the whole group. 🌍

A huge congratulations to Ben and Eleanor from Sancton Wood!
At our recent Model UN conference at King's Ely, our Year 10 students took on one of the most thought-provoking debates in international politics - the suppression of the internet by governments around the world. And Ben and Eleanor truly shone.
Both students were awarded medals for their outstanding contributions, demonstrating exceptional skill in amending and challenging the resolution put forward by the UK delegate. To hold your ground, construct a compelling argument, and influence proceedings in that kind of environment takes real confidence, intelligence, and preparation. Ben and Eleanor did all of that and more.
We are so incredibly proud of you both - this is just the beginning. 🌟

Cambridge is one of the most celebrated cities in the world, but when it comes to outdoor space, city centre schools often face a very real challenge.
At Sancton Wood School, we've always been committed to offering our students more than just an exceptional academic experience. That commitment has taken a tangible new form with the opening of our brand new yard - a dedicated outdoor space right here in the heart of the city.
For students spending their days navigating GCSEs, A Levels, and everything that comes with being a teenager, having somewhere to step outside, clear their heads, and connect with their peers is genuinely invaluable. We're delighted to provide that, and to stand apart in a city where such spaces are few and far between. 🌳
