Sancton Wood School Independent school, nurturing academic excellence for pupils aged 12 months to 16 in Cambridge.

We are a small independent co-educational day school for pupils aged from 9 months to 16. The main aim of the school is to make each and every pupil aware of his or her innate qualities and skills, and to develop these to full capacity. We are a family-oriented school and our setting allows for the provision of an outstanding contribution to the social, emotional and academic development of each child. We have small class sizes of approximately 18 across the school and this excellent pupil:teacher ratio is a key to the educational philosophy that focuses on the provision of a tailored educational programme for each pupil.

Today, we're recognising Rupert's remarkable GCSE success and the journey that made it possible.

Through resilience, determination and a commitment to his goals, Rupert achieved an outstanding set of results, securing 10 GCSEs, including Grade 9s in History and Geography and Grade 8s in Classical Civilisation and Business.

Rupert's journey is a wonderful example of how confidence, support and perseverance can help pupils flourish. Having joined Sancton Wood in Year 7, he steadily grew in confidence, embracing school life more fully each year and developing a real passion for learning. By the time he reached Years 10 and 11, Rupert had become a highly engaged member of the school community, building strong relationships with staff and excelling in the subjects he loved most.

We're proud to be celebrating Sasha's outstanding GCSE success and the hard work behind it.

Through dedication, perseverance and a commitment to excellence throughout his time at Sancton Wood, Sasha achieved an exceptional set of results, with Grade 9s in Physics, Biology and Geography, alongside outstanding grades across all of his subjects.

Sasha's achievements reflect not only his academic ability but also the hard work, determination and positive attitude he has demonstrated since joining us in Year 7.

We're incredibly proud of Scarlet and all she has achieved in her GCSEs.

Through determination, resilience and a commitment to making the most of every opportunity, Scarlet achieved an outstanding set of results, including a Grade 9 in Drama, a Grade 8 in English Literature, and Grade 7s in Mathematics, English Language and Sociology.

Reflecting on her results, Scarlet said:

"I feel very proud and relieved. I'm most proud of my Drama result because that's the subject I enjoy the most."

Scarlet's journey is a wonderful example of how confidence, support and hard work can help pupils flourish both academically and personally.

Public speaking, critical thinking, diplomacy, and the ability to hold a room and challenge an argument with confidence and grace.

These are the skills that will carry our students through university, careers, and life - and they're exactly the skills our Year 10 students put into practice in a recent Model UN conference at King's Ely.

Seven of our students debated the suppression of the internet by governments across the world, navigating complex geopolitical territory and holding their own among delegates from schools across the region. Ben and Eleanor were awarded medals for their skill in amending and challenging the UK delegate's resolution - a remarkable achievement that speaks to the quality of both students.

At Sancton Wood, we believe in education that goes beyond the classroom. Last week was a perfect example of why. 💙
