A group of our Sixth Form mathematicians were lucky enough to be able to attend a recent Maths Lecture at the Leys School by Sir David Spiegelhalter, Emeritus Professor of Statistics at the University of Cambridge. The renowned statistician spoke about how to navigate chance, ignorance, risk and luck. Our students had front row seats and were fully engaged in this fascinating approach to statistics!

What a summer!

When they weren't in the classroom, our Summer School students in Cambridge were out making the most of everything the city had to offer.

From peaceful punting along the River Cam to adrenaline-filled rock climbing adventures, they definitely created some unforgettable memories.

When Alfie missed out on his first-choice university, he felt demoralised and deflated. He chose to retake one A level at MPW Cambridge and improved his grade from a B to an A*. That one grade change made all the difference — Alfie is now studying Biological and Behavioural Sciences at the University of Cambridge.

About his time at MPW Cambridge, Alfie said:. "My decision to retake an A level was initially quite daunting, having not ever considered taking a ‘Gap Year’ before.

When I first visited, I felt instantly that my situation was understood, however the kind of understanding that doesn’t have an ounce of pity about it.
