First session with a new student. Lovely drawings of my amaryllis in full bloom and a candle I bought at Camden Lock many years ago.

Each term I take my students to one of the wonderful museums in Cambridge to draw, and afterwards we go for a cuppa in a cafe close by. This is my Thursday group at the Museum of Classical Archaeology. None of them had visited the museum before and they loved drawing there.
Unfortunately it was term time so all the local cafes were full, so we sat in she garden of the Granta Pub with a up of tea/coffee. A wonderful way to spend a morning.

When the palettes are really lovely after my students have been painting!
This week my classes have been mixing paints to make colour charts that they can refer to if they need a specific colour. Beautiful in their own right I photographed them before I cleaned them up for the next group.

Had a lovely morning printing and painting on Thursday. My students always impress me with their ideas and techniques.
The pictures include one printing block, two prints and a painting.

Every term I take my art classes out to one of the wonderful museums in Cambridge, to draw. This is my Wednesday class at the Museum of Classical Archaeology.
There is nothing like drawing the human figure from some plaster casts of statues from around 420BC. A wonderful museum where the models never move!

A few of the drawings made in the first session with my Wednesday group. Charcoal, pastel, pencil and pen. A great start where we get to know each other and plan what we would like to learn in the 10 sessions.

Lovely morning drawing in my garden with one of my students. He is getting back to drawing for the first time since he did his art A level! We sat side by side drawing the old urn using pencil, ink pen and watercolour pencils
