We aim to further the appreciation of wine and to enable students to experience a wide range of wines while promoting its social and cultural relevance.

The Cambridge University Wine Society, founded in 1792, holds a number of tastings each term, with the main focus on educating the students who are wine appreciators. We aim to bring you wines from all over the world, and cater for lovers of everything from port to champagne. The majority of tastings are conducted by region, and will include a range of wines from the inexpensive to the vintage. Ta

Tickets to our first Co**ha y Toro tasting on the 23rd of October will be released on the 15th via email.✨
If you aren’t already a member, we suggest you consider becoming one to make the most of priority booking and discounted tickets.

Whether you’re cork-confident or wine curious, these tastings are designed for everyone with no background knowledge required.

✨🍇 A wonderful way to conclude Michaelmas Term with the legendary Domaines Schlumberger from Alsace! 🇫🇷✨

We explored an exquisite lineup that showcased the diversity and elegance of Alsace winemaking, beginning with their Pinot Blanc before moving into a stunning series of Grand Cru expressions. From the richly textured Riesling Grand Cru and expressive Gewurztraminers to the beautifully complex late-harvest Vendanges Tardives, each wine reflected the craftsmanship and heritage of this historic family estate.

A heartfelt thank you to for guiding us through such a memorable evening and closing our Michaelmas tastings on a truly high note. 🥂

🍷✨ An unforgettable evening exploring the elegance of Bordeaux with Château Phélan Ségur!

We journeyed through the heart of Saint-Estèphe 🇫🇷, tasting a remarkable vertical lineup of Phélan Ségur across six vintages: 2013, 2014, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020. Each wine revealed its own personality, from the freshness of the younger years to the complexity and depth of the more mature vintages, showcasing the true character of this iconic estate.

An incredible evening celebrating the diverse wines of Portugal, guided by Sofia, a passionate wine educator from 🇵🇹

We began with vibrant whites, including the Adega Mayor Reserva do Comendador Branco 2022 (Alentejo), the Quinta de Chocapalha Arinto 2022 (Lisboa), the Quinta de Carvalhais Encruzado Reserva 2022 (Dão), the Tapada de Coelheiros Branco 2022 (Alentejo), and the crisp Soalheiro Primeiras Vinhas 2023 (Vinho Verde).

The reds followed, showcasing Portugal’s bold and elegant expressions with the Adega Mayor Reserva do Comendador Tinto 2020 (Alentejo), the Princesa Reserva 2021 (Porto e Douro), the Quinta do Crasto Touriga Franca 2019 (Porto e Douro), and the stunning Casa Ferreirinha Quinta da Leda 2021 (Porto e Douro).

This tasting was a wonderful celebration of Portugal’s unique terroir and grape varieties, as well as an educational experience that deepened our appreciation for these incredible wines from Portugal. A huge thank you to Sofia and Vini Portugal for sharing your expertise and passion. Here’s to many more discoveries in the world of Portuguese wine! 🥂

A sensational evening featuring two outstanding English wineries— and —led by Chris and Liam! 🇬🇧🍷

We began with a delightful lineup from Gutter & Stars, enjoying the Honey Bear White Blend 2023, Spacer Pinot Blanc 2023, and the elegant Star 69 Chardonnay 2022. 🧸🪐⭐️

Danbury Ridge impressed us with their beautifully crafted Chardonnay 2022, Octagon Block Chardonnay 2022, and Pinot Noir 2022, culminating in the spectacular Solstice 1 sparkling wine—a perfect way to end the evening on a high note. 🍾🥂

This tasting was a celebration of the creativity and craftsmanship driving the rise of English winemaking. A huge thank you to Chris and Liam for sharing their expertise and stories behind these incredible wines. Here’s to the exciting future of English wines! 🥂

A great evening celebrating the wines of and ! 🍷✨

We embarked on a journey through the Rhône Valley 🇫🇷, starting with the beautifully aromatic Condrieu Les Grands Amandiers 2021, followed by the rich and powerful Cornas Domaine de St Pierre 2016 and the elegant Crozes-Hermitage Domaine de Thalabert 2018. The highlight of the evening was the Hermitage La Chapelle series, showcasing the incredible elegance of La Maison Bleue 2015, La Chapelle Blanc 2021, and La Chapelle 2006. These wines truly embodied the heritage, complexity, and prestige of Paul Jaboulet Aîné and La Chapelle!

What a fantastic way to explore the brilliance of Mosel wines with ! 🍇✨

We journeyed through the historic Mosel Valley 🇩🇪 with a stunning lineup of Karthäuserhof wines, starting with the lively Karthäuserhof Brut before savouring the crisp and mineral-driven Schieferkristall 2020 and 2022. The Alte Reben series from 2020, 2021, and 2022 highlighted the evolution of these elegant wines, each vintage offering its own charm and complexity.

We concluded with two showstoppers: the exceptional Karthäuserhofberg GG 2020 and the beautifully balanced Karthäuserhof Kabinett 2022, which perfectly rounded off the evening.

What a fantastic way to kick off our first tasting of Michaelmas Term! 🍷✨

We delved into the heart of South African winemaking 🇿🇦 with an extraordinary lineup from Porseleinberg, exploring their Syrah across four stunning vintages: 2010, 2014, 2019, and 2022. Each wine told a unique story of the vineyard’s terroir and artistry.

Complementing the Porseleinberg series, we also enjoyed the beautifully crafted Patina, the iconic Chocolate Block, and the powerful Boek Syrah.
