📩 To our new Year 12s... check your inbox around lunchtime!

Today, we'll be confirming details of your Getting Started Day which will take place this week at Hills Road.

As a reminder, this will be EITHER Thursday 3rd or Friday 4th September and you must attend your allocated day only, as it is based on your personal timetable.

Getting Started is your chance to meet your Tutor Group, get familiar with College and our digital systems, and ease into life at Hills Road (search 'Getting Started' on the College website to find more information).

From 2–3pm, you can also choose to join an optional social activity – from gaming, crochet and making beats to Aikido, paper crafts, book chats and more.

The new academic year starts today and we are looking forward to welcoming back the new Year 13 with their Getting Going day. Don’t forget your ID card so you can swipe to enter the site!

(To allow timetabling to be finalised, new Year 12s will receive confirmation of their allocated Getting Started day by email tomorrow, Wednesday 2 September. Your Getting Started will either take place on Thursday OR Friday this week - you must attend your allocated day)

We’re so proud of you all as you celebrate a truly fantastic set of A level results. 17% of grades were awarded at A*, 47% at A*–A, 76% at A*–B and 99.9% at A*–E.

Most importantly, it was lovely to see so many of you pop into the Hub today to catch up and share what’s next. Thank you for coming in and making Results Day such a special one! We wish every member of our Class of 2026 all the very best for whatever comes next.

🌡️ Hot Weather Update 🌡️

To support the wellbeing of students and staff during this week's heatwave, we have made some temporary timetable adjustments.

📅 Wednesday 24 June
Year 12 lessons will finish at 1.50pm. The college will remain open until 5.00pm, with air-conditioned spaces available.

📅 Thursday 25 & Friday 26 June
With temperatures forecast to reach 33–35°C, lessons will be shortened and the college day will finish at 1.55pm.

🎭 Much Ado About Nothing performances and rehearsals will continue as planned in our air-conditioned theatre.

We expect to return to normal timetables next week as temperatures cool (but no teaching on Tuesday and Wednesday due to Welcome to Hills).

Please remember to stay hydrated and take care in the heat.

🎨 Join us for the Hills Road Art & Photography End of Year Show 2026!

Celebrate the creativity, talent and achievements of our A Level Art & Photography students through an inspiring exhibition featuring painting, printmaking, sculpture, textiles, digital art and photography.

Saturday 27 June | 10:00am–4:00pm

The exhibition showcases the imagination, dedication and individuality of our students and offers a fantastic opportunity to support the next generation of young artists.

The show will also remain on display during our Open Events on 4 and 6 July, giving prospective students and their families the chance to experience the exceptional creative work produced at Hills Road.

We look forward to welcoming you to what promises to be a vibrant and uplifting event.
