And part 2 (the team matches) of the University Taikai!
Both Cambridge Teams got through the pools stages, and Cambridge team A came third! So congratulations to Ciadh Takahashi, Sarah Kaneen, Alex Rutter, Matt Smith, Alex Karbowshi and of course Cosmin Patrascu, who scored the ippon that got us through to the semi-finals.
Once again, a massive thanks to the shimpan and the helpers of the day. And thank you to each team who came and made it such a good event ❤️❤️

Part 1 (individuals) of the 2026 UK University Taikai hosted at Cambridge!
With about 200 people participating, it was an incredible event bringing together kendoka from across the UK universities.
Thank you so much to all of the shimpan and helpers who made the day possible, and to each of the universities for coming and making it such an incredible event!
And congratulations to Alex Rutter from Cambridge for Bronze in the Kyu Individuals tournament!

Team matches: Both won by Cambridge A and B, with Maio Nagashima scoring the final ippon in the A team match to bring it home
Individual Beginner: Silver place to Domini Aldridge
Individual Kyu: Gold to Matt Smith, Silver to Steven Ye, Bronze to Alex Rutter
Individual Dan: Silver to Cosmin Patrascu, Gold to Kotaro Iseki
