Day two at Burwell House has been even better than the first!
Starting our day with cereal, toast, bacon and spaghetti hoops we all had lots of energy ready for our activities!
We worked as a team to undertake some fantastic outdoor activities…trying to balance a big see saw, traversing metal poles, and hooking and raising objects using pulleys! These have earned our groups points for the big Eggscape activity we are about to begin before dinner!
Alongside this we have all learnt how to use a TV studio! We’ve had some great directors, floor people, camera people, sound/tech/mixer technicians and performers! You will all get to see each group’s videos once we get home. We are settling the children down tonight for the preview (with a hot chocolate)!
Teachers are keeping their fingers crossed for an earlier night tonight; with lots of tired children, we are feeling hopeful ☺️

Year 4 have had a fantastic first day at Burwell.
When we arrived, we spent an hour exploring the grounds, finding clues and working as a team to find the answers!
We had a delicious pizza lunch with chocolate sponge and ice cream for dessert.
We aced a fire drill! Our teachers were so impressed at how quietly we climbed down the swirling staircase.
This afternoon we played some great games in the gardens. We especially loved the Sky Eye and Smelly Cocktails.
Just before dinner we all worked as a team to make our beds. Some of us found it tricker than others, but we didn’t give up!
Our day ended with another delicious meal and time to relax as a class, playing games and chatting with our friends.
We can’t wait for tomorrow!
EMERGENCY CLOSURE OF SCHOOL
Dear Parents/Carers,
I am very sorry to inform you that, due to circumstances beyond our control, Over Primary School will be closed tomorrow (Friday) to all children and staff.
Some of you will have noticed the school car park has been closed since the start of term. After much digging, a water leak has been found and following a site meeting this morning, we have no option but to turn the water supply off tomorrow so the repair can be carried out, as a matter of urgency. As you will understand, the school cannot open without water.
I can only apologise for the short notice this gives parents in finding alternative childcare. Please know, we have explored every alternative solution, in an attempt to prevent an emergency school closure, however, due to the severity of the leak other options aren't feasible.
We have been assured by the contractors the work will be completed within the day on Friday, so school will reopen on Monday 13th January.
Please could I ask that this message is posted on class WhatsApp groups to ensure all parents are aware of this closure as soon as possible.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support.

Year 6 have had a fantastic first day at Grafham Water! Some have been mountain biking, some on the ropes and others doing some archery. We are much more tired today than we were yesterday and Miss Ramsdale, Miss Tracey and Mr Waskett are hoping for a little more sleep tonight!

Year 1 had a fantastic day out at Shepreth Wildlife Park! We saw so many different animals - and of course we all were very excited to see the red pandas. The children also spotted animals that were carnivores, herbivores or omnivores and learnt about food chains in our session with the keepers.
We are recruiting!
Please see https://epm.co.uk/school-jobs-board/ for more details.
