The Greeks, the Romans and Us: Classics at Cambridge

Classics at Cambridge “Classics” is the study of the Greek and Roman cultures in the broadest sense. We welcome applications from all students.

At Cambridge we study Greek and Latin language, literature, philosophy, ancient history, art and archaeology and we have a special interest in how those subjects fit together in our interdisciplinary approach. Our unique 4-year course allows you to start Classics here without any background in Greek or Latin and leave with the same degree as our 3-year students who come with Latin and/or Greek A-Levels. Our course has been rated the top Classics course in the country by The Guardian.
