Highlights of this week in pictures (much drumming, rituals and nature connection, my kind of week):

Drum circle in the woods with Thedrumwoman.com

Delivering week one of my free The beat of your own drum online book club (week 2 is on Monday-it’s free and you can still join-theme of women power and de-instutionalising drumming-DM me for the link)

Clearing a spring in my local woodland so it can flow better (sharing this has wonderfully connected me with 3 other women who do the same work, exchanging books with a well clearer in Ireland, and I’ll be off to a local well drum blessing this weekend)

Attending Thomas Marty’s wolf drum circle.

Creating a video to showcase what wrapped in rhythm looks like as a healing ritual.

Private early morning drumming in the woods session with a drum sister.

Running my own drum circle in Abington woods, accompanied by Baba gaya the cat

Looking forward to a 5rhythm dance, a river swim and the well blessing this week end.

PS: I’m not sharing this to brag but to inspire. And because of my ADHD my brain tends to focus mostly on what I’m not doing and this is a useful reframing reminder for me-in the same way I do a Ta-da list at the end of each week)

I enjoyed attending another drum circle last night: the wolf drum circle, led by Thomas Marty.

It’s really enjoyable to be a guest rather than a space holder and to see how differently everyone holds their circle

I’ll be running my own drum circle tomorrow near Cambridge, my 3rd drum circle this week.

Today I cleared a spring in a local wood with a group of friends so I could flow easily again.
Removing branches, sticks and stones, clearing the mud and making a channel of beautiful clear water.
Then we honoured the spring with a shrine, drum, chants and songs.
The spring was grateful and it felt very special.
This is part of a new practice my drum has guided me to: to take women to drum by springs, rivers and lakes. Watch this space.

An afternoon of drumming in the woods with women and , just what the doctor ordered. And as someone who runs drum circles and hold spaces for others, it’s a delight to be there just to drum, especially when the space is so well held.

Re-reading my book to find excerpts for my book club, after a refreshing swim in the river. Temp has dropped back down from 20 to 15 degrees!
