▫️Mérida is known as “La Ciudad Blanca” (The White City) due to its limestone colonial buildings and is considered one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the Americas, founded in 1542 on the remains of the ancient Maya city T’ho.
⛪️The city boasts the oldest cathedral on the American mainland, the Catedral de Mérida, built using stones from Mayan temples.
