Jesus College Chapel

On Saturday 4th July at 6.00pm, the Chapel will host its final service of this Academical Year, the Choral Evensong for Donors' Day.

Sung by the Combined Choirs, this service welcomes the donors of the College for a special service of Choral Evensong, which will include music by Rose, Attwood, and Elgar. All are welcome to attend.

GRADUATION CHORAL EVENSONG

Tomorrow, Tuesday 30th June, 6.00pm.

Jesus College, Cambridge graduands join together for a special service of Choral Evensong sung by the College Choir to begin the evening’s celebrations ahead of Degree Day. The service will finish in good time to move to drinks before Graduation Dinner.

Graduands and College Fellows are asked to be seated by 5.50pm. Visitors are very welcome to attend; however, please be aware that priority seating will be given to Jesus students and Fellows.

Tomorrow, at 6pm, the Chapel hosts a Choral Evensong for the End of the Academical Year. Sung by the Combined Choirs, this service marks the close of the Academical Year and will include the dismissal of Organ and Choral scholars, Chapel Secretaries and Clerks. Music by Rose, Mathias and Britten will be sung by the choirs, and all are very welcome to attend.

This Sunday, 14 June, at 6.00pm, the Dean of Chapel, the Rev’d Dr James Crockford, delivers the Address ‘Beyond Cambridge’, concluding this term’s series on ‘Beyond …’.

The College Choir sings music by Stanford, Wood, and Finzi.

The service is followed by drinks in the Prioress’s Room. All are welcome.

This evening, at 9:45pm, the final service of Compline by Candlelight for this Academical Year will be held in the Chapel, featuring prayers, readings, and music sung by a consort of the College’s choral scholars.

All are welcome to attend the service, and to enjoy port and cocoa in D1 after.

This Sunday, 7 June, at 5.25pm, Miriam Reveley, the Senior Organ Scholar, will play a programme of music by Bruhns, Bach, Peeters, and Judith Bingham directly preceding Choral Evensong.

Then, at Choral Evensong at 6pm, the Rev’d Canon Dr Susanne Carlsson, Adviser for Spirituality in Rochester Diocese, Direction, St Augustine’s College of Theology, Kent, delivers the Address ‘Beyond Ego’, continuing this term’s series on ‘Beyond …’.

The College Choir sings music by Caroline Shaw, Howells, and Ireland.

The service is followed by drinks in the Prioress’s Room. All are welcome.

This evening, Thursday 4 June at 6.15pm, the Chapel marks the feast day of Corpus Christi with a special Eucharist service.

The Chapel Choir will sing a mass setting by Harold Darke.

The College Choir sings music by Sheppard, Leighton, and Stainer.

This evening at 6.30pm, Benjamin Sheen, the Director of Music, will give a performance of organ music for Pentecost, including pieces by Bach, Scheidt, de Grigny, and Duruflé, interspersed with readings from scripture and literature.
