Happy Book Lovers Day!

In the our Future Leaders and colleagues have been going and encouraging a love of books and reading.

One Year 9 Future Leader in Cambridge created an interactive Book Board, now proudly displayed in an English classroom, to inspire Year 7 and Year 8 students to read for pleasure.

Meanwhile, another team of Future Leaders in Norwich ran a Year 7 Book Club, featuring bookmark making, a short story competition and free books which they’d collected from local charity shops to help make reading more accessible for everyone.

We also have some bookworms in our team at Villiers Park who have shared their top recommendations for summer reading ☀️📖

Welcome to the team Kala!

Kala joined us earlier this year, with a background in higher education, including experience in the apprenticeship sector, where she supported students throughout their academic journey. As part of her degree, she also studied abroad, gaining valuable insight into different cultures, perspectives and approaches to learning.

She brings a genuine passion for supporting young people and helping them reach their full potential, and we're excited to have her on board.

And that’s a wrap on our biggest Year 10 Residential yet!

This week we brought together 102 Future Leaders for an immersive experience exploring university life, apprenticeships and future career pathways.

Through workshops, activities and shared experiences, students brought to life many of the conversations they've been having within their coaching sessions, broadening the horizons of what their future may look like.

And in a fitting coincidence, this year's residential welcomed 102 Future Leaders just as Villiers Park celebrates its 102nd year. A reminder that while our expertise spans more than a century, our focus remains firmly on the young people we work with now and their future.

A huge thank you to everyone who made the residential such a success, from the team and Student Ambassadors at the University of Bath, our volunteers from AM and Sopra Steria, school staff and Villiers Park Colleagues.
