"I'm amazing at PPC." Great...can you prove that?๐Ÿค”

Woodrow, Executive Director at Resourcing Solutions, joins the podcast to talk CVs.
His advice? Marketers often have broad, strong skill sets, but broad doesn't always get you the interview; tailored does.

Scott's 3 key tips to getting an interview :
๐Ÿ‘‰ Tailor your CV intro to the specific role
๐Ÿ‘‰ Narrow it down to five to eight key achievements
๐Ÿ‘‰ Make every achievement measurable, with real context on scale and results

๐Ÿ’กBeing mindful is a skill every digital product manager needs to succeed.

In this clip, Laurie Warren explains why the global internet now has a similar carbon footprint to the global aviation industry. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ Unused media libraries, outdated plugins, even old emails sitting in your inbox, all of it is stored somewhere, and storage has a cost.

๐Ÿ‘‰Her advice? Design sympathetically from the start. Compress your images. Question whether you need that video. Go back through existing sites and clear out what's no longer pulling its weight.

Same product. Same continent. Wildly different reception. ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ“ˆ

Christina Spaulding, founder and CEO of Manzanita Marketing, discusses why marketing across cultures takes more than a translation, and this real example that proves it.

"The end of strategic planning."๐Ÿ’ก
That's Henry Mintzberg's famously contrarian view, and it's the starting point for this week's episode of the Marketers' Toolkit.

We dig into why plans matter less than the ability to respond, why not every market shift is worth chasing, and how to strike the balance.

๐Ÿ˜ฎ Struggling with KPIs? You're not alone.
In this episode, Kiran discusses how marketers tend to fall into one of two camps: avoiding metrics altogether, or making them unnecessarily complicated.

Her advice goes back to basics:
๐Ÿ‘‰ What are you trying to achieve?
๐Ÿ‘‰ Why are you doing it?
๐Ÿ‘‰ How will you measure it?

Simple questions, but the ones that actually matter.

Every piece of research said Red Bull would flop in the UK. They launched it anyway.๐Ÿ˜Ž

Chris Lukehurst, Director of Research at The Marketing Clinic, breaks down why: that aggressive fizz, that sour taste, isn't a flaw. It's the point. It signals "stimulating" before the caffeine even kicks in.

๐ŸฅคAnd when Coke tried to compete with a sweeter, easier-drinking energy drink, it flopped, because consumers didn't want lemonade with a buzz. They wanted something that felt stimulating.

The lesson: sometimes what people say they want and what actually drives the sale are two different things.
