We really enjoyed welcoming all of our new students to the library last week! In case you needed reminding, here’s what you missed on your library tour…
📚 Our Special Collections are the first bookshelves you’ll see when you come into the library, and there are four different sections to browse! There is Disruptive Thinking, which we aim to keep updated with new and innovative business publications; Boost, which includes books to support you during your time in Cambridge; Skills & Support to help your academics; and Fiction, to encourage reading for pleasure outside of your subject.
🌟 Towards the back of the space, there is a physical map of recommendations, but there is also a digital version available when you scan the QR code - let us know if you think we should add anything else!
📱The Brick and the Pods are both great ways to boost your productivity in the space! Once you download the easy-to-use Brick app, you’ll be able to tap in and out of the library to limit your access to certain apps for a period of time. Just remember to un-Brick as you leave the space!
💬 Our Pods are at the back of the library. As they are sound-muffling, they are great for taking quick calls, or meetings. Just remember, they aren’t soundproof, so don’t share anything confidential!
📍We have a world map just next to our fiction books, and we encourage you to add a pin to your hometown - it’s so interesting to see where in the world our students are from!
❔One of the most important places to know of in the library is the information desk. This is where a member of the library team will be stationed to answer any questions or concerns you might have while you are in the space. Please don’t hesitate to come up and chat to us; we’re always happy to help!
💫 We always encourage our users to give us feedback, as it helps us to improve our service constantly! You can leave us an anonymous (or not so anonymous!) note on the mezzanine-level wall. And before you ask, no, we won’t tell you where the chocolate book is!
