Congratulations to Year 11 students Tom K. and Campbell L. on their outstanding achievements in this year’s prestigious Harvard Political Review Essay Competition.🏆
The competition encourages students to engage with issues ranging from global political dynamics and international institutions to youth activism and the impact of technology on politics.
Tom’s essay, "Barons to Ballots: The Arduous Task of Opening Overton’s Window", responded to the prompt ‘The Power of P***everance’. Exploring key movements in history, he examined how strategic engagement with the Overton Window framework can facilitate more effective political progress. His essay was awarded 🥇 first place nationally.
Campbell’s essay, "It’s the Economy, Stupid: The Sino-Mongolian Dependency – How Mongolia Has Survived in the Shadow of Its Neighbours", examined the impact of Mongolia’s relationships with neighbouring powers, arguing that the country’s national identity has been profoundly shaped by historic and economic ties, particularly with China. His essay secured 🥉 third place nationally.
Together, their efforts also earned the national team award and second place overall among entries from the UK, Europe and Central Asia. 🌏
Taking on the challenge of this competition alongside preparations for their GCSE examinations, both students spoke of how rewarding they found the experience and encouraged others looking to stretch themselves academically to consider entering similar competitions.👏
We are delighted that both students will be continuing their studies at Stephen P***e Sixth Form, where the independent research, critical thinking and essay-writing skills developed through this process will undoubtedly serve them well. 🩵

🌊 World Ocean Day reminds us that protecting our planet starts with understanding it.
Inspired by the UN Sustainable Development Goals, our Year 9 students have been exploring some of the world's most pressing sustainability challenges through creative design.
As part of the project, they produced a series of striking graphic posters highlighting themes such as Life Below Water and Life on Land, encouraging us all to reflect on the role we play in protecting our oceans, ecosystems and biodiversity.
At Stephen P***e Cambridge, sustainability is woven throughout school life – empowering students to think critically, act responsibly and become positive changemakers for the future.
A brilliant example of creativity, global citizenship and environmental responsibility in action. 🌍🩵

A truly exceptional visit from Terry Szuplat, who served as a speechwriter to President Barack Obama ✨
Our students had the rare opportunity to learn from one of the voices behind some of the most influential speeches in modern history – a communicator who has shaped global narratives at the very highest level.
Drawing on his experience at the White House and working alongside world leaders, Terry brought to life the real power of words – how ideas are crafted, how messages resonate, and how communication can influence the course of events on a global stage.
For our students, this wasn’t just a talk – it was an insight into the responsibility and impact of finding your voice. From practical advice on public speaking to a deeper understanding of authenticity, courage and storytelling, the session left a lasting impression.
At Stephen P***e Cambridge, we believe in giving students access to experiences that go far beyond the classroom – connecting them with people and ideas that challenge, inspire and expand their sense of what’s possible.

🌿 A fantastic Big Day Out at Wimpole Estate for our Junior School pupils!
From exploring the historic house and uncovering stories from the past, to meeting farm animals (including some very cute piglets 🐷), there was plenty to discover throughout the day.
Pupils in Years 1–6 also put their navigation skills to the test in the beautiful parkland, working together, solving challenges, and embracing the outdoors with enthusiasm and confidence. 🧭
A wonderful day of exploration, teamwork, and hands-on learning – creating memories that will last long after the journey home.

Nature is putting on quite a display at Latham Road! 🌼🩵
Our wildflower meadow is back in bloom, bringing a burst of colour to the school grounds and creating an important habitat for pollinators and local wildlife. From bright poppies and cornflowers to delicate daisies, these spaces are a reminder that even small changes can have a meaningful impact on biodiversity.
As part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability, we're proud to create environments where nature can thrive alongside learning.

Two talented teams from Stephen P***e Cambridge Senior School are heading to the prestigious TeenTech Finals at the Institution of Engineering and Technology this June 🚀
The national TeenTech Awards celebrate some of the UK’s brightest young innovators, with finalists showcasing ideas that tackle real-world challenges through science, technology and creativity. Throughout the year, our students worked tirelessly to develop their concepts, document their research and refine their prototypes alongside industry experts to secure a place in the finals, an event previously attended by names such as James May and Professor Brian Cox!
Representing Year 7, Lizzy L and Jasmine H created Kool Katz – a sustainable, cat-safe ice lolly designed to help pets stay cool and hydrated during the summer months. Their eco-friendly recipe cleverly repurposes chicken legs, a common food byproduct, into a nutritious frozen treat 🐱❄️
Representing Year 10, Jamie B, Darius K and Mohan D developed Chlorify – an ambitious project exploring ways to increase plant carbon fixation by boosting chloroplast counts, alongside investigating long-term biomass storage solutions to help prevent decomposition 🌱
We are incredibly proud of both teams and can’t wait to see them represent Stephen P***e Cambridge on the national stage 🩵
