β½π Celebrating the World Cup at Nursery! πβ½
Today, the children have been getting into the World Cup spirit with lots of football-themed activities across the nursery!
πΆ In the Baby Room, we explored South Africa and painted the country's national animal, the Springbok. The children learned about why this special animal is important to South Africa. The children showed fantastic coordination skills, using both hands and alternating hands to pick up the sponges and dab paint onto his picture.
π§ Our Toddlers joined in the excitement by creating their own footballs using paper plates and paint. They carefully used sponges to dab on the black and white pattern, and when asked what they were making, proudly replied, "Football!" β½
π¨ In Preschool, the children designed their very own football shirts to celebrate the start of the World Cup. They enjoyed expressing their creativity while discussing their favourite teams and colours.
β½ We also created our own football pitch for our peg people! The children used the peg people to move the ball around the pitch and score goals, developing their fine motor skills and imaginative play.
It has been a fantastic day of creativity, learning, and teamwork as we celebrated the World Cup together! πβ½

At lunchtime today, our Preschool children showed fantastic independence skills! π
The children confidently identified their own names and found their designated places at the table all by themselves. During mealtime, they were provided with knives and forks to cut up their food, demonstrating excellent control and coordination when using their utensils.
Activities like these help to develop fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and self-help skills, all of which are important foundations for future learning and independence.
We are so proud of how capable and confident our Preschool children are becoming! ππ½οΈ

Today in the Toddler Room, the children had lots of fun making their very own banana milkshake! ππ₯
The children took turns cutting up the banana, helping to develop their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. They also enjoyed carefully pouring the milk into the bowl, practising their independence and control.
There was great excitement as they watched the blender whizz all the ingredients together to create a delicious milkshake. Once it was ready, the children sat together and enjoyed tasting their creation, sharing smiles and conversations with their friends.
A wonderful activity that combined learning, teamwork, and a tasty treat! π

π§ Exciting changes are happening in our Baby Room garden! π§
Our baby outdoor area is currently having a huge revamp, and we'd like to say a big thank you to our wonderful maintenance team β Tim, Karolis and Ashton β who have been hard at work removing the old decking and replacing it with a brand-new one.
The Preschool children have been fascinated watching the transformation take place! This has provided a fantastic real-life learning opportunity as we talked about the different tools being used, why it is important to stay safe around them, and the reasons why the decking needed replacing.
The children have enjoyed observing the demolition and construction process, asking lots of questions and learning about how people work together to improve and care for our environment.
We can't wait to show you the finished result! π
