🎓✨ There’s nothing better than welcoming former students back to Abbey College Cambridge!
We were delighted to see 2019 graduate Jacky, who recently returned to celebrate an incredible milestone – completing his Medicine degree at the University of Cambridge. 🩺👏
Jacky visited us with his mum while exploring Cambridge before the summer break. During his time here, his determination, hard work and commitment to his studies, ably supported by our dedicated academic and pastoral teams, helped him achieve his dream of studying Medicine at Cambridge.
This autumn, Jacky will begin his career as a doctor at Hingchingbrooke Hospital, a fantastic achievement and the start of an exciting new chapter.
We are incredibly proud of everything he has accomplished and wish him every success in the future. 🌟

🎉Congratulations to Sui Tung Sherry on being named Student of the Week!
Her progress since Year 12 has been nothing short of remarkable.
Sui Tung’s attentiveness and determination to succeed have truly stood out. She has made an incredible leap this year, We have seen a big increase in her grades from, Term 1 to Term 2 which is a testament to her hard work and commitment.
Her growing fluency in both written and spoken English has enabled her to fully engage with the challenges of the course, and she now contributes confidently to class discussions. What’s particularly inspiring is her independent mindset — rather than settling, she chose to push herself further by attempting the Term 2 resit, demonstrating real ambition and resilience.
Sui Tung has flourished this academic year, and it has been a pleasure to watch her journey. We are incredibly proud of everything she has achieved — well done! 👏

The rain certainly didn’t dampen the warm welcome at our Abbey College Cambridge Summer BBQ on Monday! 🌦️ And as if to make the evening even more special, a beautiful rainbow appeared over the College 🌈 — the perfect symbol of new beginnings.
It was a pleasure to welcome our future Year 9 students and their families, giving them the chance to meet and connect with some of our current local families and students.
Despite the weather, it was a fun, friendly and enjoyable evening, filled with great conversations, laughter, and a true sense of community. 🤝
We’re excited to get to know our new families even better as they become part of the Abbey College Cambridge community — we can’t wait to welcome you all! 💙

🌟 Inspiring our future medics 🌟
Yesterday, we were delighted to welcome Juanita and Aisha, final-year medical students at the University of Cambridge, who delivered an inspiring and informative talk to our Year 12 prospective medicine applicants.
The session offered valuable insight into every stage of the journey into medicine, including:
🩺 Crafting a strong personal statement
🩺 Preparing for the UCAT
🩺 Choosing the right medical schools
🩺 Life as a medical student
🩺 Managing the challenges of studying medicine
🩺 Applying for Foundation Programme placements
🩺 Exploring specialty training pathways
Following the talk, students had the opportunity to ask questions and gain first-hand advice from those currently walking the path they hope to follow.
Our students found the session invaluable, gaining real insight into the application process, medical school experience, and future career pathways in medicine.
A huge thank you to Juanita and Aisha for sharing their time, experience, and inspiration! 👏

🎭 Year 9 Trip to Shakespeare’s Globe 🎭
Our Year 9 English students recently enjoyed an unforgettable trip to Shakespeare’s Globe in London to watch A Midsummer Night’s Dream brought to life on stage.
Experiencing the play in a live theatre setting was incredibly valuable, allowing students to deepen their understanding of Shakespeare’s language, characters, and themes in a way that simply can’t be replicated in the classroom. From the vibrant performances to the unique atmosphere of the Globe, the production truly illuminated the humour, magic, and complexity of the text.
Trips like this help foster a love of literature and theatre, making learning both engaging and memorable. A fantastic day out and a brilliant opportunity to see Shakespeare as it was meant to be experienced! ✨📖
