At New Meaning, we believe that being strong isn’t about staying silent — it’s about speaking up, reaching out, and supporting each other. Whether it’s talking about your feelings, setting boundaries, or checking in on a mate, these are the real signs of courage.

Let’s break the stigma around mental health and show the next generation that it’s okay to ask for help — and powerful to offer it.

Did someone say Gambia wrap up?

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of Lex Beckett here filming final interviews for our Gambia documentary.

Lots of excellent stories. Even more memories.

This May, we are celebrating all of our young people who went on our trip to the Gambia!

These young people were incredible on this trip. They were not only respectful of another culture but highly engaged with it.

They were hardworking, coming to the construction site every day and working to build a training centre in 30 degree heat! Additionally, they worked closely alongside our MoJo Foundation friends, learning new construction techniques and skills.

Finally, not only did our young people work hard, perform well, and show great respect, but they all made personal developments. For many this was the first time that they have been out of the country, or been away from family. Many were anxious to come on the trip. But everyone took a huge step out of their comfort zone, and as a result found that their self-confidence flourish.

We are really proud of the developments that our Gambia group made and we are excited to see them continue to grow, now that they are back at home.

Have you seen our SPACE Micro-home site in Barnwell?

Bidwells has kindly volunteered with us today, to help our team to repair and revamp the pod homes on this site! They are sanding down the homes and the decking, then repairing, and revarnishing them.

Thank you for Bidwells for supporting us on this project! It is really important that our micro-homes are dignified homes and welcoming places for the residents. Maintenance is a key part of this. We are really grateful that you spent this day with us.

Interview with a Learner

We interviewed one of our learners, whilst he repainted one of our offices. We learned some background about how Josh came to New Meaning foundation, and uncovered some surprising talents!
