Pocket Slobbits and Poppet Slobbits.
Me and Tracy are creating some new puppets for our next project combining folklore with Slobbit storytelling. My wish is that they share a sense of delight with all that get to play with them. Or even see them in a photo! Happy Friday 🌸

Slobbits, poppets and monsters.

Putting a hand in a puppet when it’s hot can be problematic for this time of year, especially the large ones. A foam ball to hold around works a treat for my dogs, cats and Slobbits, but smaller insides in monsters (this is Fred) work well with a cotton insert. He can practice his moves in the mirror without needing recovery time with his biggest fan!

These are poppet dolls made from basic figurines and put inside Pocket Slobbit outfits. So I guess they are Poppet Slobbits! I love how the faces change with the chosen materials. Each one becomes a friend for their creator, once a personal belonging is placed in their rucksack. Tracy and I are making more finished versions for our Etsy shop. I can’t wait to share these finger puppet versions when they are ready.

I headed out in the snow with this fluffy Slobbit to take photos for January’s newsletter today. It’s cold here in Cambridge for the second day and I feel it will be cold a while longer. Thank goodness for Slobbit cuddles helping me start 2026 cosy and warm!
