Our students visited Belfast, Northern Ireland’s capital! ✈️🌍

A wonderful opportunity to take learning beyond the classroom and explore the rich history, landscapes, and culture that Belfast has to offer.

Our art students took an inspiring trip to the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts in Norwich, bringing classroom learning to life! 🎨

A Level Fine Art student Aneliya said:
“Seeing the artworks in real life made such a difference, you notice details, textures and scale that you just can’t get from a screen. The exhibition really made me think about how artists use imagery to make us question what we believe, and that’s something I want to explore in my own work.”

GCSE Fine Art student, Soha added: “It gave me lots of ideas for my exam project and helped me understand how artists communicate strong messages through their work.”

We are delighted to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our Year 10 and 11 students in the 2026 UKMT International Intermediate Maths Challenge, recently held on campus.

This competition is renowned for stretching learners through complex, non‑routine problem‑solving tasks.

This year’s results marked one of the strongest performances for us, with over 64% of participating students earning a certificate, five being gold. A remarkable testament to the depth of mathematical talent within our community.

Congratulations to everyone involved, we couldn't be prouder!

We recently welcomed former student Joanna, back to CATS Cambridge to lead a photography workshop for this year’s student yearbook team.

Now studying a Foundation course at CSVPA Cambridge School of Visual & Performing Arts and preparing to start a Fine Art degree in September, Joanna photographed last year's year book whilst completing her A Levels.

Joanna said: “It was great to come back to CATS and pass on what I learned last year to the yearbook photographers.”

Ramina, joint yearbook editor, shared: “We will be taking profile photos of all the students at CATS, and Joanna was really helpful in giving us tips on how to make sure the photographs look professional. We really appreciated her input - especially with using Lightroom.”

Recently at CATS Cambridge, our students helped shape a special lunch inspired by Persian and Iranian culture, working closely with the kitchen team to share traditions, flavours and stories from home.

A lovely example of how our community listens to students and celebrates culture together.
