Childcare Office University of Cambridge Childcare Services oversees the facilities and assistance offered to University of Cambridge staff and students with children.

The Childcare Office oversees the facilities and assistance offered to University of Cambridge staff and students with children. The University has four day nurseries at Edwinstowe Close, West Cambridge, Eddington and the Chris Abell Nursery for children from three months to school age, as well as a Holiday Playscheme which operates during the state school holiday periods (excluding Christmas and Bank Holidays) for school-age children. Staff can benefit from a salary exchange scheme to save tax and National Insurance payments on all or part of childcare costs. The Childcare Office operates an Information Service, which aims to support families of the University community. The service offers information on family related issues including childcare, schooling, health care, financial support and local community resources.

Come and see E.H. Shepard’s classic illustrations come to life this autumn in this family-friendly story trail.

Created in collaboration with HarperCollins to celebrate the beloved bear’s 100th anniversary, you can also step inside the house to discover the Winnie-the-Pooh Centenary Exhibition (closed Monday 2 to Sunday 15 November 2026).

The trail is free to enjoy (normal admission applies).
