What a fantastic opportunity for the pupils at Wimbish Primary Academy 👏
It’s great to see them learning new skills through hands-on activities and hearing directly from the soldiers about how the equipment is used and why. Experiences like this really bring learning to life and help inspire curiosity, teamwork, and confidence. A huge thank you to the team from Carver Barracks for giving the children such a memorable afternoon. ⭐
Pupils from Wimbish Primary Academy, learnt new skills with an army experience afternoon led by a team of soldiers from Carver Barracks.
As part of the afternoon, pupils took part in a range of different activities. The soldiers started each activity explaining and demonstrating to the pupils what the equipment was used for and why.

Stronger Leadership Through Collaboration 📚👥
Tuesday was our third Trust Leadership Group meeting of the year, for headteachers and the shared services leadership team.
We were privileged to hear from our Deputy Principals, Dom Fullman of Bottisham Village College and Karim Marsaoui of The Netherhall School The Netherhall School, sharing their experiences of the excellent East100 leadership programme led by Jon Hutchinson.
The day also provided opportunities for strategic long-term planning in response to the recent White Paper📄and for headteacher peer coaching 🤝
Thanks also to Stapleford Granary for a wonderful community venue, surrounded by their Ladybird Books exhibition!

📢 We are proud to see our colleague Helena Marsh, Principal of Linton Village College, leading the conversation on maternity pay in education.
In her latest TES article, Helena reflects on the government’s Schools White Paper announcement to double full maternity pay for teachers from 4 weeks to 8 weeks, an important milestone for a profession where around 70% of the workforce is female.
As co-founder of WomenEd and a long-time advocate for better support for teaching parents, Helena has spent years raising awareness of the challenges many teachers face when balancing career and family life.
Improving maternity pay is not just about policy; it is about retaining excellent educators and making teaching a sustainable, family-friendly profession.
