✍️🦌 "SHOWCASE YOUR RESEARCH!" - Research Poster Competition

Entries are invited for a special Foundation Day competition to showcase the brilliance of Lucy students! Make a poster about any aspect of your work: it could be your dissertation topic, your favourite week’s work so far, or any aspect of your subject you have learnt about during your degree and found interesting.

Posters will be displayed in a special exhibition in the Lucy Café on Foundation Day (10 November)! The winners and runners up will win goodie bags and tickets to the Foundation Day Feast.

🥂🎓 It was wonderful to welcome 77 alumni and friends back to College for one of our biggest Alumni Reunion Dinners last week, which coincided with the Alumni Reunion weekend across Cambridge University.

Following a welcoming drinks reception, guests were delighted to hear from Jennifer Scott, Director of Dulwich Picture Gallery, who delivered a fascinating lecture exploring the question: “Can art save the world?” Her compelling new perspectives prompted a Q&A, with guests keen to hear her thoughts on some of their own favourite works.

The conversation continued over a traditional Cambridge Formal Hall, where discussions about art and ethics flowed well into the evening. The room was buzzing with energy, as old friendships were rekindled, new connections were made and tables shared their hopes and ideas for the college's future.

We would like to thank our fantastic Catering, Events, IT and Lucy Cavendish College Alumni and Development teams, who worked so hard to make the evening such a success, and of course our speaker, Jennifer Scott. To our wonderful alumni, thank you for coming back to Lucy and for being part of such a special evening. It was wonderful to reconnect with so many of you, and we look forward to keeping in touch.

🎤🌟 Honorary Fellow Edwina Dunn OBE joined the Future Global Leaders participants on Wednesday to talk about “What Women Want”.

With a long career in delivering transformational business change, Edwina has huge insight into how organisations did, and do, view purchasing power – and how data can transform access and experience for consumers and brands – and challenged the prevailing idea that age and marital status are key to understanding a customer.

As Founder of “The Female Lead”, which conducts research on how people (of all genders) find fulfilment, Edwina knows more than most about how sense of purpose influences decision making.

Participants really enjoyed the opportunity to take the discussion further over dinner. Thank you Edwina for a fantastic evening.
