I've randomly had two people book me for summer crash courses over the last couple of days because somehow they've seen a post about it on a local site from 2 years ago. I figured I may as well do a few more, I've lowered the price a little this year as there's a cost of living crisis and I appreciate people are struggling - at the end of the day it's more important that kids learn an instrument than it is me having an extra tenner in my pocket. Also, I really enjoy it. VERY limited space, basically in that gap between schools breaking up and my wife making me go on holiday. Drop me a line if you're up for your child making some noise :)

I've had a nice couple weeks (mostly) off, but now things get a bit crazy. This is next Sunday - two charity drumming events, two different charities, two different venues, two different house bands, same bassist (that funky Welsh lad from Fred's House). Same drum teacher (me, obvs).
Let's do some good whilst making money a load of cash for good causes!

Giving my first mystery celebrity a drum lesson on Monday, can't wait! Just need another 99...anyone know anyone famous* then? If so, feel free to introduce me, we can make a load of cash for charity with this and have a lot of fun in the process. I've only got 9 months to do this, because I'm an idiot who can only work when there's a deadline 🙂

*I mean, what makes someone 'famous' anyway? If they have a Wikipedia page and I've heard of them, that's enough to go with!
Celebs Drumming — PAUL RICHARDS With a continued belief that drumming makes people happy, particularly in these often harsh times, and can do a lot of good for charity in the process, Paul is on a mission. The plan is simple: Paul wants to give 100 celebrities a 30-minute drum lesson. Ideally, these celebs will have no drumming ex...
Our now traditional video Christmas card from (a few of) my private students*. Thanks all for a lovely year, have a cracking Christmas and here's to a safe and successful 2023 :)
*the editing is a mess, as always, but that's part of the charm, isn't it? One of the videos didn't work but I left it in anyway and I think it adds something superhero-like to it...

I've added a Christmas feel to my team building with drums day...in need of an alternative office Christmas party? Give me a shout!
Looking for a team-building day with a difference? On top of my regular teaching, I'm running these courses, too, and they've been great fun! Christmas version available for office parties with a difference, too :)
DRUMMING SPORTSDAY — PAUL RICHARDS Two or three teams, a load of percussion. One overly enthusiastic host/teacher. 10 challenges. A lot of cheesy songs. Possibly quite a bit of rivalry!
As a new term approaches, I keep thinking about ways my drum lessons can benefit more people (alongside the obvious benefits of learning the most fun instrument ever, obviously!). I’m really keen to set up a scheme where, moving forwards, NHS staff/kids of NHS staff, get their lessons for free, or at least heavily discounted. We’re in harsh times and if those saving lives have one less thing to worry about (money), it’s actually the least we can do.
But, obviously, I need to still earn a living, too. So the plan is to set up some kind of bursary where people can chip in whenever they want to, basically a pot of money (it’ll be in a separate account to my normal one so that I can keep tabs on it) and whenever there’s money in there, the NHS parents/kids either get their lessons for free or discounted if there isn’t enough on that tab.
What do you think? Can this work? Who’s in? Message me!

The summer holidays are practically here! As always, no room for new regular students, but a couple of gaps left for one-off introductory courses from 25th - 28th July if anyone is interested :)
Our second student album is almost finished! It's a songwriting collaboration project, where people have submitted original songs and we've written/recorded our own drum parts for them. My students have done me proud, yet again, and it's been a wonderful creative process :) Hearty thanks to our songwriters: Rishi Nagg, Romy Gensale, Adrian Killens, Tom Byrne, Gavin Chappell-Bates and Inge Loudon for the awesome tunes!
The plan is to get it released before the summer holidays begin, it's ambitious but with a couple of late nights, it can happen!
Many thanks to the brilliant singer-songwriters who have sent over songs for our latest recording adventure. If you're a singer-songwriter who has a spare song that my drummers can gloriously drum all over, ping me a message. Lovely things are being achieved here for those who really need it :)
