š«š« JCR End of Term(s) Report š«š«
As promised, weāre making the JCR more accountable ā so hereās an update on what weāve been up to for the last two terms, in all its grisly detail. Each committee member has put their goals and what they did and didnāt achieve. Weāll do another (shorter) one at the end of this term. Enjoy!

The May Ball is one of the most anticipated events on the student calendar, and our next one will be taking place in June next year! Itās a lavish night of food, drinks and entertainment - which canāt take place next year without a committee, and people to lead it. Organising the May Ball is impressive experience, which companies often try to recruit from! Itās also an incredibly rewarding experience, where your contribution to the college is truly felt. If you didnāt attend, check out the review of last yearās ball here, to get a feel for the event: https://www.varsity.co.uk/features/13315
We are looking for a May Ball President and Treasurer with the qualities below:
President: Needs to be proactive, hardworking, and able to deal with stress. Experience in event organisation, managing a budget and working in a team are desirable.
Treasurer: Needs to be honest, organised and good with numbers. It would be beneficial to have some idea about VAT and accounts, although no prior experience is required.
For both: we need people who can get permission from their Tutor and Director of Studies to take on the role. Ideally, they should already have a UK bank account in their own name and be contactable for 6 months after the ball by post and email.
The previous President, Isabella Hadjisavvas ([email protected]), and Treasurer, Vandan Parmar ([email protected]), have said they would welcome applicants reaching out to them on Facebook or email to ask about the roles, so please donāt be shy!
Please send a CV and cover letter explaining why you would be a suitable candidate for the role to [email protected]. Applications are due midnight on 24 April, and interviews will take place in the following couple of weeks.

It's cold outside.
Inside, though, it shouldnāt be. The boilers are currently being tweaked so cold areas of college (e.g. Old Court) have heating throughout the day, rather than just mornings and evenings. Thisāll last until the weather returns to normal, and you wonāt be charged.
If you have any other problems, donāt hesitate to get in touch with me or a relevant committee member. Weāre always quick to act, but canāt act if we donāt know what the problem is!
Now you can say that the JCR gives you warm fuzzy feelings, and mean it literally.
