Today we had the pleasure of welcoming Megson . We sang songs, danced and was learning about the instruments which they bought along to show the children. Below is a link to their you tube page which has the song we were singing today, the children will hopefully remember the actions

This week, in the afternoon the children have been weighing objects to see what is heavier. They chose two objects to weigh and put them in the scales. They cut out pictures of the objects and stuck them on their paper to record their findings. Some of the children even predicted what felt heavier before they weighed them. They recorded their findings which was sent home with them.

This week we started our autumn topic. One of our activities was to make autumn hanging mobiles. It was a good activity to get the children out, collecting objects and making mobiles with the objects they had found. It’s something to do in the half term too, easy, free and can encourage children to talk about what they find and how the seasons change.

Just before we broke up for the summer, the children planted a few strawberry plants. We went into the garden this week to see what fruit we could find, our plants had strawberries!! The children picked, washed and ate them. Growing fruit and vegetables is a great learning activity to try at home. It teaches children how to grow their own fruit and vegetables, how to care for plants and encourages them to try new things, for example cress is great for children to grow as it’s easy, cheap and great for them to try.
