That's one of the key messages from our latest research with teachers, parents and students.
We found strong support for vocational and technical qualifications, particularly among those who have experienced them. Students value their real-world relevance, parents recognise the transferable skills they develop, and teachers see the benefits they can bring.
Yet awareness remains low and schools continue to face practical barriers that limit access.
As government looks at ways to strengthen technical education, we want to make sure the voices of teachers and students are heard. Our findings suggest that removing these barriers could help many more young people benefit from the opportunities vocational qualifications already provide.
