Hello, my name is Krista Diephouse. I am a doctoral student conducting a research study on the experiences of first-generation faculty. This study is part of the researcher's doctoral education program. Participants will be asked to participate in a 30–45-minute interview via Zoom answering questions regarding personal experience as a first-generation student and with mentoring. Participation is entirely voluntary, and all responses will be kept confidential. Thank you for your interest in this study. This research explores the experiences of first-generation faculty members. This study works to understand how first-generation faculty perceive the psychological impacts of participating in a first-generation faculty/first-generation college student mentorship program. The purpose of the study is to better understand participants’ experiences within the mentorship program, including how participation may influence their sense of belonging, identity, motivation, connection, and overall well-being within higher education settings. Findings from this study may contribute to a greater understanding of the experiences of first-generation faculty engaged in mentorship relationships with first-generation college students. Please complete this brief form to determine eligibility. Participation is voluntary, and your responses will be kept confidential. Submitting this form does not obligate you to participate.
