Neha shares Samarthโs inspiring swimming journey ๐๐โโ๏ธ
โSamarth was born profoundly deaf in both ears and received AB cochlear implants at just 13 months old. I truly believe his implants have given him opportunities he wouldnโt have otherwise had.
Now 12, Samarth has always loved being in the water. He started swimming lessons at 4ยฝ, and his passion has only grown stronger.
In 2025, he competed in the London Para Youth Games, representing Tower Hamlets. He achieved an incredible gold medal in the 25m freestyle with a time of 19.34 seconds, and placed second in the 25m backstroke. Although an administrative error meant he missed out on receiving his silver medal, we are so proud of his achievements. He was also felicitated by the Mayor of our borough.
This success has motivated him even moreโhe now trains three times a week and has joined a competitive club, Sharks Swimming. Heโs currently preparing for the 2026 GB Deaf Swimming National Championships.
Having waterproof batteries means Samarth can hear his coaches, follow instructions, and respond to the whistleโsomething thatโs made a huge difference. Swimming just wouldnโt be the same without his AquaKit.โ
Weโre so proud of Samarth and canโt wait to see what he achieves next ๐

Weโre proud to sponsor the worldโs first Sound Free Concert.
Imagine thisโฆA piece of music that doesnโt existโฆ until itโs created live only for cochlear implant wearers to access.
A composer and GenAI code it in real time. Itโs performed once. Then permanently deleted.
No recording.
No replay.
No second chance.
And you canโt hear itโฆ unless youโre meant to.
There are no speakers. No instruments. No sound in the air.
Instead, the music is live coded and streamed digitally directly to hearing devices worn by cochlear implant users.
This moment exists only for cochlear implant wearers. Even the composer, with typical hearing, will never experience their own work.
A complete reversal of what access to music means. Redefining what โsoundโ means, if there were never any soundwaves and those with typical hearing cannot hear it, reframing inclusion.
A one-off experience.
Gone the moment it ends.
Shared only by those hearing device wearers in the room.

This week, the Advanced Bionics team made a visit to the Design and Disability exhibition at the Victoria & Albert (V&A) Museum in London to experience the inspiring Deafmetalยฎ exhibit firsthand.
Deafmetalยฎ is an award-winning jewellery innovation for hearing devices, designed to personalise hearing technology while keeping devices secure โ beautifully combining function, identity and self-expression.
We were proud to see Deafmetalยฎ featuring the Advanced Bionics Marvel CI sound processor within her exhibit. It was a real privilege to see Advanced Bionics technology represented in such a meaningful and influential cultural space like the V&A.
The exhibition as a whole is powerful, inspiring and thought-provoking โ a true celebration of Deaf, Disabled and neurodivergent communities, creativity and lived experience.
The Design and Disability exhibition runs until 15th February, so if youโre in London, itโs well worth a visit. โจ

Huge congratulations to AB cochlear implant wearer Rosie on becoming Tae Kwon-Do World Champion 2025. ๐ Rosieโs family have shared her life-changing journeyโฆ
Rosie was once told that contact sports were too risky because of her cochlear implants. For a girl who loved movement, that felt like a heavy limit. But everything changed when a new consultant reassured her that sport was safe.
Rosie and her dad joined Solihull T.A.G.B. Tae Kwon-Do Club together, training side by side. The supportive environment gave her confidence, friendships, and a sense of achievement she hadnโt always found at school. Sport quickly became her outlet, her passion, and her way of proving to herself what she was capable of.
In just a year, Rosieโs dedication has taken her from her first grading to Best in Grading, English National Champion, Training with the England Squad and then World Champion 2025โcompeting among athletes from 23 countries.
Today, sport is Rosieโs pillar of strength. As she says: โI canโt live without sportโit helps my mental health and keeps me fit. I do it 24/7.โ
With her AB cochlear implants, Rosie hasnโt just kept upโsheโs soared, living life to the fullest and becoming a true champion. ๐ฅ๐
Thank you to Rosie and her family for sharing this story โ what an inspiration! ๐
