Hi everyone ๐
We're almost at the end of the week! As the beginning of the week seems quite busy for people workwise we've decided provisionally to meet on Fridays (but do let us know if another day suits you better).
We're meeting at 5.15pm tomorrow (Friday) in the music pavilion (in Lucy Cavendish gardens, opposite the nautlilus cafe). This will be our first informal meeting together as a society, and we'd love to see you there! Bring along your writing/poetry/ideas, or come along and hear others reading their work.
We have a few writing games planned too - no need to be experienced, just come along for the fun (and food ;) )
That's tomorrow, 5.15! ๐ฅณ

~published writing opportunities~
Hi guys, gals and non-binary pals,
We want to keep you updated with writing happenings across Cambridge as and when we see them so here's our first of (hopefully) many:
The wonderful 'BAIT' zine!
This inclusive magazine is run by Cambridge students and open to submissions from Cambridge students and beyond, so your non-Cambridge friends can join in too.
It also has a soon-approaching deadline so you have an excuse to procrastinate from study - what more could you hope for as a writer?!
BAIT is a radical, political and artistic Cambridge zine which presents creative writing among art, articles and other creative ventures. They're currently working on issue 10 which will be focused on the theme 'borders'! The submission deadline is *October 30th* (this coming Friday) and anyone can submit - this is a great chance to get involved in the creative writing scene and have your work published :)
We'll post more writing opportunities as they appear so, if you see any, do let us know and we'll post here too!!
Much love x

~ Soc Social!! ~
SATURDAY 24th, 5.30pm onwards
______________________________
Hi everyone! Thanks for filling out the questionnaire :) The main response is for Saturday (tomorrow) so we've decided to do our first soc social then!
This'll be a chance to meet up with other members in person and get to know each other. Future writing workshops/events will happen later in the term so no need to bring anything but yourself!
Due to a schedule conflict, we'll meet at an earlier time of 5.30pm, at the Porters Lodge (weather permitting). If the weather is tipping it down then we'll post tomorrow about a discord virtual meetup instead. Below is a map of where it is (number 1) and we hope to see you there!
P.s. just to confirm, anyone and everyone is welcome, Lucy Cav or not :)
Much writerly love x

Hi all! Great to see those who came to the Lucy Cavendish society fair and we look forward to seeing the rest of you over the course of this year! Whether you're interested in sharing your written work, being in a creative writers' space or just meeting more Lucy students (in person, we hope!) join this page and the discord page if you can https://discord.gg/wFMWqax for more information/writing activities.
On this page we'll share upcoming events, discussion and things around Cambridge that might interest you, too.
For those of you who missed today's session, we're a new society and so can shape our meetups around what you're looking for - be it writing workshops, sharing advice and critiquing work, gaining insight from visiting guest speakers or simply having fun together๐๐
SOCIAL!
Here's a poll for our first social! We'll try and do it in about a week's time but let us know if another day works better and feel free to fill it out even if you're not sure you can make it :)

POLL: SOCIAL DATE!
Hi guys, whether you've joined the intro call or not, we'd love to do a social soon to get to know fellow writers and people interested in writing, reading, and all things creative. We'll have an informal social before other workshops, presentations and speakers that we hope to have this term. If
