A little challenge for half term week. Can you learn to put your coat on by yourself? Look at our film and practise doing this without any help from a grownup.
If you already know how to put on your coat, have a go at putting your shoes and socks on by yourself or learning how to wipe your nose.
These are all important skills and learning to master these little challenges will help you to keep yourself clean and dry while you are at nursery.
Brunswick Nursery School Cambridge
We are a popular nursery based in the heart of Cambridge, rated 'outstanding' by Ofsted.
We are a state maintained nursery school offering free places for 3 and 4 year olds. We take children from across Cambridge and the surrounding area, and provide flexible sessions from 8am until 5.15pm. We are led by qualified teachers and have a staff body with specialist Early Years skills. The children attending Brunswick come from all over the world and speak many different languages. We welcome children with SEND and have specialist Teaching Assistants to work alongside them.

Mud, mud, glorious mud!
That's been our motto this week. We have experienced everything mud related, even making edible 'mud' and 'muddy' playdough. We harvested our lovely potatoes from the allotment and ate them with butter and mint from our garden.
We all agreed that the best bit of the week was wallowing in the mud like tiny hippos.

In the last week we've baked banana muffins, made smoothies, gardened, paddled, played with lots and lots of water and generally tried to keep our cool (in the sun)!
However, one of the highlights has been a visit from ceramic artist Andrew Hill. He brought his potter's wheel and a lot of patience!

Last week we we invited our Brunswick community of children, parents and carers to celebrate the end of term with an 'International Picnic'.
Thank you to everyone who contributed. It really was a very special event!

Clay is a natural material, used by humans for thousands of years. It allows endless possibilities for creative play and exploration. Our children have loved the feeling of squishing between their fingers (and toes)! This week we added tools and mixed it into paint. Some of the children shaped their clay into "statues".

We launched our clay project this week.
Of course the children have taken it in an unexpected direction and quite literally immersed themselves in it!

One parent said, "My children are both Brunswick graduates and it is not an exaggeration that the care, attention, encouragement, imaginative play but most of all love that they received still follows them and has contributed to their success as humans even years later."

"Sorry about the mess but we're playing here!"
What a magical week at Brunswick, engaging in many forms of messy play.

Old MacBrunswick had a farm!
On Wednesday this week our garden transformed into a farm yard when we had a visit from the wonderful and very patient Ark Farm.

We also made delicious rhubarb cordial with rhubarb we grew at the allotment.

What a busy week!
We have planted, harvested, cooked and hatched. We have been outside lots and lots, playing with water and making the most of the lovely weather.
We harvested our very own allotment grown leeks and after washing them thoroughly, we made them into leek and potato soup - yum! We are now busy planting on the allotment for later in the year.

Spring has sprung and so has our allotment!
At Brunswick we have been busy planting seeds in pots ready to plant out at the allotment. We have already planted some potatoes which should be ready to harvest by June or July.
We are also very excited about our tadpoles. We have been feeding them boiled lettuce and the children were amazed to see that one of the tadpoles is already starting to get it's first legs!
